Out of nowhere, Genma grabbed Ranma's wrist.
"Let me go!"
"You're coming with me, ingrate! You will marry Akane and unite the schools!"
"No! Ryouga!"
Suddenly, a foot came in contact with Genma's face, knocking him to the ground. However, it wasn't Ryouga. Nodoka whipped out her sword and held the side of it against Genma's neck. Soun didn't dare move for fear of his friend being decapitated.
Genma looked shocked. "Nodoka! What are you doing!"
"I'm protecting my child. What does it look like."
Genma was even more shocked. "But... but we need to unite the schools! You even supported us in this!"
Nodoka kept her sword on Genma's neck. "Things have changed now. Ranma is happy, and I intend to keep things that way. You should accept if your child is happy. That's what I thought you had been doing, but you were just twisting things to go your way. Uniting the schools is what you want. Not me. Not Ranma. You. Now get out.”
Genma’s voice began to falter. “But… but… but the schools-“
Nodoka’s voice hardened and her grip on the sword tightened. “Leave right this second, or I swear I will execute you wear you stand.”
Genma looked over his shoulder at Nodoka. She had a fury in her eyes that showed that she meant every word she said. The was a long silence.
Genma sighed. “Soun, we’re leaving.”
Soun looked dumbfounded. “But the schools must be-”
“We’re leaving.”
Nodoka withdrew her sword. Genma and Soun began to walk away. Genma took one last, hate-filled look over his shoulder before he left.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
