"Yes, Master," Misato/Amethyst replied.
Asuka got up and headed toward the kitchen. Shinji looked up and saw Asuka pull out a can of beer.
"Asuka, stop!" Shinj called.
Asuka, hearing her master's command, froze in place. Shinji walked over, while Rei looked on. Shinji gently removed the beer and placed it down on the table.
"Rei, I wish all the beer in the apartment would be removed from here."
"Yes, Master Shinji," Rei replied.
Shinj nodded in satisfaction, as the beer vanished. He looked at his frozen genie and spoke gently.
"The command that I gave to Mistao about not drinking alcohol applies to both you and Rei. This command isn't to punish you, it's for your own protection. If you got drunk, you might let something slip."
Shinji turned away and went to sit back down, when Rei cleared her throat.
"Yes, Rei?"
"Master Shinji, you forgot to release Genie Asuka from your stop command. Until you do so, she is unable to move."
Shinji turned and saw that Rei was right, Asuka was still holding the refrigirator door open and her other hand was curled, as if it were still holding a can.
"I'm sorry, Asuka. I release you from the stop command."
Asuka jerked, and she slammed the refrigarator door shut. She rubbed her eyes to keep them free of tears, while keeping her back to Shinji. Shinji was about to reach out and tocuh Asuka, when Rei put a hand on his arm and shook her head.
Asuka growled, "Sapphire? If I go to sleep inside my gem, when will I wake up?"
Rei responed, "Until Master Shinji calls you to this world. At that point, you will be automatically awoken. Our entire kneeling and phrase routine that we go through when we are summoned is our version of a computer being booted up."
Asuka mumbled to herself, "I'm being comapred to a computer again."
Asuka concentrated and found herself turning into smoke that immediatley flowed back into the ruby gem on Shinji's ring.
Shinji looked at Rei.
"Master Shinji, Genie Asuka needs a bit of time. That order you have given her was for her own benefit."
Shinji nodded and went to see how Misato was doing. Rei looked down at her harem clothes and nodded.
She softly whispered, "Angels have power. Humans have free will. Genies are halfway between the two. I was half Angel and half human. A genie is what I am supposed to be."

Inside her gem, Ruby was crying her eyes out. She was lying on a silk covered bed done in an Arabian style
"Dammit Master! I want to scream and yell at you for doing that, but you did it for my own good!" Ruby screamed, and started sobbing
After a few minutes of sobbing, Ruby muttered, "A small victory. This was the first I was able to go into the ring on my own without Master telling me to."
Ruby accessed her special power and searched. At the very edge of her abilites, she saw threads leading from her and outside the gem.
Ruby bowed her head, as she realized what the threads meant. "The ring is just where we are stored when Master doesn't need us or we need to recharge. We are bound to Master and to each other."
Ruby closed her eyes and slept until Shinji called her forth once more. As she slept, she dreamed.
