Salusian 1/2: Enter Ranma... Yet Again! [Episode 110323]

by Proteus

Walking along the street with his hands in his packets, Ranma headed towards what would be his new prison for the next month or so.

It wasn’t that he… no, he did hate school. After spending time cruising through the galaxy, staying on a planet where you were royalty, on another planet where the ruler considered your mother her best friend was royalty, and other places around the universe, school just seemed like a waste of time when there was so much better things out there to see. Even a place like Quagmire couldn’t really compare to the vast diversity of traveling through outer space with a chief. “… That sounds so much lamer than it actually is,” Ranma mumbled to himself.

But now he was in Tokyo, normal, old, boring Tokyo. No robots, no giant killer anything, no magic users every few blocks, Ranma bet their principal wasn’t even a retired superhero; much less one that had inherited the tomorrow gene. All he had to look forward to was class after class of boring lectures, and a dull PE class thanks to his alien heritage and ninja training.

What made it even worse was that this year around Ranma wouldn’t even have Lexus or Kassy to help make the whole thing a bit more interesting. Ranma supposed he could slip back into old habits, but that did have a few problems too. Even though his younger brother had come to Japan with him, Lexus was still in junior high, and thus destroyed any chance for some harmless mischief filled fun. Then again, it would have been the same way had he not left the US at all, he would of just known his classmates back in Quagmire.

Finally coming to the address Aunt Ichi gave to him before they arrived, Ranma walked into the courtyard in front of the school, and blinked at what he saw. All around the place school kids around his age were gathered together in what looked like a massive mob of jocks waiting for their next shipment of Sports Illustrated.

Seeing no actual path through the crowd, and not wanting press his luck and end up causing a scene, Ranma moved aside and figured he’d just walk away to the back entrance. But, he only got six steps before something loud and angry sounding made itself known.

“I HATE BOYS!”

A girl with long dark blue hair tied back in by a ribbon zoomed her way past the confused half-Salusian as the testosterone army charged at the spokesperson for Amazonian master hood and the battle was quickly joined. Wanting to get a better view, Ranma quickly jumped onto the top of the fence and watched the massacre unfold in front of him as the combined sports clubs of the school were finding themselves greatly overwhelmed by one lone and irate girl.

“Well, I guess this might be worth watching for awhile before getting bored to death,” Ranma told himself. “Not like I’ll see something better in the next few weeks.”

“Actually this is a daily occurrence around here.”

Ranma looked down at the ground in front of him and the girl with the pageboy haircut that had spoken to him with an unexcited tone. Not expecting his question to be answered, Ranma stayed silent for a moment and just studied the girl. He had to admit she was above the norm, and was obviously using Kempo to trash her opponents. Power-wise she looked to be a bit ahead of his old sparring partner Asagi, but if it ever came down to a contest between the two girls then Ranma was certain his friend would have been walking out without a scratch. Although the girl could hit, she over extended on most of her punches and to only overpowered her opponents.

“So, who is she anyway?” Ranma asked.

“500 yen.” The girl told him before holding out her right hand.

“For what?” Ranma asked in confusion.

The question disrupting her normal routine, Nabiki looked over to her right to see who was talking to her. Seeing no one there, she looked left for her latest source of income and blinked when no one was there either. Great, now I’m hearing things, she thought with a frown. Nabiki was about to walk away when the feeling of someone tapping her on the head made her jump in statement and look behind her.

Hanging upside down Ranma blinked as the girl came down from her mild heart attack and was taking deep breaths. When she finally recovered and looked up towards him, Ranma blanched as the girl’s mouth opened in astonishment and she just stared at him for a moment.

Crap, don’t tell me my ears are hanging down, Ranma thought before quickly reaching and feeling his head to find out they were still hidden, and in his haste loosing his balance and quickly fell from the wall, onto the ground with a crash. Rubbing his head, Ranma slowly stood up and moaned in both annoyance and pain before looking over to the girl in front of him.
