He was different, a bit taller, and he had more hair that came down to his shoulders but the top still looked the same, but it wasn’t done up in a pigtail and left to fall down to his shoulders. Then there was the odd thing about him, Ranma was English, or American or… some kind or westerner anyway. At least he was wearing the school uniform this time.
Oh for crying out loud Nabiki get a grip on yourself, she thought while rolling her eyes. Yeah right, as if Ranma had been transported halfway across the world to be born as the son of some gaijin couple, only to end up back in Furinkan the next day. She knew from experience that weird shit happened in this section of the city, but someone who came from outside the country to transfer to their school was just too freaky; never mind the whole used to be a student here part. People crossed the ocean to get away from this school, not to come to it.
“Hey, are you okay,” Ranma asked while he slowly stood up and rubbed his ears, he hated landing on his head.
Coming back to reality not even a half of a second later, Nabiki just chuckled and shook her head to buy time for her to recover and think of a reason for the surprise. “Just a little stunned someone was brainless enough to actually try hanging by their legs. Smooth landing by the way.”
Ranma frowned at the strange girl for a moment, something about her just really annoyed him, and he got the strangest urge to make sure he still had his wallet with him. “Well I wouldn’t have fallen if you hadn’t looked at me with yours eyes about ready to pop out of your head!”
“Well that is the usual reaction when you see someone doing something incredibly stupid,” she replied with a superior smirk. “So are you supposed to be a martial artist with only a day and a half of lessons, or did you just want to experiment with gravity yourself while you tried to crack your head open?”
“Hey! I am a martial artist, and a damn good one! I was the best ninja in my hometown when it came to sneaking around and acrobatics,” Ranma exclaimed. Not to mention strength, endurance, and up front fighting, but that was kind of all thanks to his mother’s side of the family.
“An American Ninja,” Nabiki deadpanned. Why do I feel I just stepped into a bad B movie? Well, it looked like the normal level of weirdness was kicking in about now, right on time too all things considered. Too bad the universe couldn’t find another sex-changing boy with no feminine modesty. Ah well, where there were teenagers, there was always a good source of income in blackmail for Nabiki Tendo.
Looking over to the now demolished mob and up to the school clock, Nabiki realized it was about two minutes to class and she had plenty of stairs to climb. She needed to wrap this up. “Well then ninja boy, if you’re so good then how about you prove it… at your place after school.” Not giving the new guy any chance to reply in the negative, Nabiki took off while sparing a second to give him a faux friendly wave and smile. At the very least she’d get a free meal out of it, and info to sell to all the boy crazy girls tomorrow.
“… Why do I have the feeling I’ve just been conned?” Ranma mumbled to himself with a frown before looking up to see the boys were cleared away and headed towards the school at a slightly slower pace than the Japanese girl, careful not to step on any bodies.
