Using the technology and records found within, Doctor Mizuno had created a new technology and new wealth for herself and her new family.
More to the point, she'd come up with some OTHER capsules after checking a few things and discovered some very different things.
Ami was from a caste-driven society similar in some ways to the sort of feudal Japan. Warriors were just below the ruling caste - the Royal Family and Councilors. Technologists were a bit further down still. Ami was the child of the Technologist caste, sent with four other capsules at the time their Princess was sent away.
Sent as well was the secret of the royal family's power.
"Temporal disturbance detected. Time bubble in use," stated one of the Doctor's machines.
Doctor Mizuno paused in her scans. "Calculate possibility that scan is from enemy of Sailorjin homeworld."
"Insufficient data for significant response," responded the machine after a few moments.
Tapping her fingers against her workbench briefly, the inventor considered her options before deciding to contact Ami.
Even as young as she was, Ami knew about her past - it was one of the reasons for her shyness and inability to make friends.
Even though she was at the tender age of eight she had some idea. "Why. Why couldn't I meet a cute guy instead of some alien stalker?" Ami asked as the message came across. "I'm only eight, almost a teenager, and I haven't met my first love yet!"
Zoom!
Ami blinked. Something had just shot past her?
WHAM!
Oh look, thought Ami, stars!
"Oh geez! Sorry about that! Are you okay?"
Ami felt herself lifted and - oh boy what a boy!
"Oh man, I concussified her or something," said the boy, though Ami wasn't really listening at this point. "What am I supposed to do when someone's injured. She's not breathing. Ahhhhh. Oh yeah! CPR!"
Ami felt herself drawn tenderly in to be given her First Kiss. Pink lighting, drifting sakura petals, yes - this was truly her First Love. Commence glomp and snuggle. Ah, she'd read shojo stories like this - particularly those in the hidden stash under her mother's bed. Her part should be like this.
"Ranma, what are you..." Genma came across the little girl trying to suck all the air out of his son's lungs, shrugged, and snapped a couple of pictures for Nodoka. Little Ranma was a chip off the old block and all.
Usagi came back, wondering why Ranma wasn't chasing her anymore, and saw the cuddle. Naturally, she wanted to as well. Just as naturally, she overdid it and the now unconscious girl was left at the local hospital to recuperate.
Little Ami went to the window and looked out as soon as she could. Somewhere out there was her Ranma, and someday she'd find him.
