"We're half-demon?" Ukyou shrieked shrilly.
"I'm not! I'm not! I'm not!" Kodachi denied.
"Wait wouldn't there be some signs?" Akane demanded.
"Pride, jealousy, arrogance, pettiness, vindictiveness," Cologne ticked off fingers. "You all have these traits."
"Everybody on Earth has those," Akane said.
"Most people do not have them as pronounced as you five," Cologne said. "I can only assume that any physical signs are currently dormant."
"No, no," Kodachi repeated, shaking her head and holding tightly to her blankets.
"Umm, is she okay?" Ranma asked.
"No," Cologne said. "According to Nabiki's notes when Kodachi was conceived, her father was well out of town. I'd reason that she's heard this possibility before and not in pleasant manner. She's no worse off the than the rest of you, however."
"What you mean?" Shampoo asked, hesitantly.
"Do you think this was coincidence?" Cologne asked. "Demons only go to such an effort for a reason. We're in a web, and, if you think about it, none of you have had the normal childhood lives. Akane's and Shampoo's mothers died while they were young. Akane's by violent accident and Shampoo's by disease (a fact the other village children never ceased to remind her of until I took hold of her training, I can only guess that Akane suffered similarly). Ukyou was forced to forsake her feminity to chase Ranma. Ranma spent ten years on the road, seperated from others. Considering Kodachi's family I can only guess what she's been through in her life."
Everybody glanced to Kodachi, who had been slowly shaking off some of the shock and listening nervously from Nabiki's bed. She started to look somewhat jumpy as the conversation, and eyes, turned to her. Thankfully, Cologne took the pressure off her as she continued to speak.
"To top it all off," Cologne said. "Here you are, the four girls nearly killing each other for the chance to bed the boy. There is a plan here."
"A plan that Miss Tendo has neatly and accidentally toppled," Cologne said. "Which shall put her into danger, but, for now, we'll let it be said that I discovered this."
"What about Jusenkyo?" Ranma asked. "Is that in the plan too?"
"No telling," Cologne said. "If the demon wished for all girls, then, perhaps."
"So we're all evil then?" Ukyou asked quietly.
"Don't be ridiculous," Cologne said. "The vast majority of half-demons aren't evil, many are even great heroes. They just tend to be prideful and act with little self-restraint."
"Like us..." Akane muttered weakly.
"Correct," Cologne said.
