Akane didn't know whether to cry or scream, and ended up settling for going through the rest of the day in rather grumpy mood, which didn't help her much once she realized that that was one of the behaviors Cologne had pointed out.
She couldn't concentrate on classes and was barely civil to her friends as she hesitantly picked at her lunch, worrying them greatly.
"Oh for goodness sakes," Sayuri said finally. "What IS it that you're moping about over?"
"It has to do with Ranma, doesn't it?" Yuka said. When Akane nodded weakly she continued to speak, voice turning hostile as she considered what Ranma must have done to put Akane in this state. "Did he dump you?"
"No," Akane said bitterly.
"Did he...do anything to you?" Sayuri asked in an undertone.
Akane turned faintly green and quickly shook her head against that idea. She couldn't hold back a vocal interjection on that thought, however.
"Ewww!" she said.
"Eww?" her friends repeated, confused. "What's going on?"
Akane sighed heavily and looked around for listeners.
"Ranma can't marry any of us," she said.
"Why not, is there some new fiancee, something wrong with him? What?" Yuka demanded, almost eagerly.
"We all, umm, share the same father," Akane said.
At which point her friends started to laugh, thinking it was a joke, the laughing got weaker as they continued to watch Akane's face, however.

Ukyou wasn't paying attention in class. She was idly playing with a pencil while looking down on a plan she had drafted for her adult life. She was going to have to scrap it now, and what would she do to replace it?

Shampoo stayed locked in her room, legs and arms crossed as she protested the situation as best she could. However, as her great-grandmother wasn't coming up with anything proving that she wasn't Ranma's sister, her resolve was steadily waning.

Kodachi's teachers noted the girl's disheveled, slightly off-kilter look all day, but none of them did much about it. They were growing used to Kodachi's moods by now, and if she was looking like a mess for the day, they weren't going to try to get her to straighten up. It wasn't until the time for gymnastics practice came that anybody really noticed that something was wrong with her.
She was excused from practice to go to the school counselor's office.
"Your gym teacher says that you seem upset about something," the counselor said.
Kodachi looked at her for a moment and said the simplest part of what was wrong.
"My father isn't my father," she said.
