All her life, a lie. All of it.
Everything she knew was wrong.
She was a tool, a creation. Some pawn on a giant board.
Her father wasn't the man she had grown, and occasionally respected, through most of her life.
Her rivals were not just random girls.
Her engagement to Ranma.
All the trials she'd been placed through.
All of it, somehow, all of it was planned just to put her through hell.
Put all of them through hell.
Somewhere, their father was cackling madly because his little mortal children were dancing around like puppets on his strings.
Well, damn him! Damn it...
She hesitated briefly. No, that's what a demon would want, for her to become something like it.
Well, she wouldn't do it.
Cologne had said most half-demons weren't evil, and she wasn't going to be one of the ones that was.
She wouldn't give her father the satisfaction.
But she would show him.
She would show him what she felt about being played like a chess piece.

Akane awoke, almost snarling, the dream had made her so angry and enraged. She stomped to the mirror on her desk and sat herself down, getting ready to start the day.
Her hand barely touched the hairbrush as, in adjusting the mirror, she noticed something...something shocking and hard to miss.
Her eyes now glowed with a pure-red light that obscured her irises and pupils, if those were there at all.
Akane gasped as her hand shook.

Nodoka heard the cry as she approached the door and recognized Akane's voice. Realizing that the Tendo girl would be the first to start the change. On the seventh day, Akane-chan's demonic blood would be completely expressed, and by then, all four of the others will have started to change as well.
She wondered what each of them would look like as the infernal blood interacted with their own personalities.
"Remember, servant," she remembered her master's voice commanding. "They must all choose the path of righteousness. I need them to be heroes."
"Heroes they shall be, Master," Nodoka whispered in response to the memory. Not noticing the slight slip in her sanity, Nodoka reached up to knock on the door, placing a cheerful face on her own.
And when the master's plan was finished, she would be given what she had wanted.
