There was something that Cologne had not told the five about their parentage. Either she didn't know, or didn't want to concern them, or for some other reason, but the fact remains that she hadn't told them that the simple act of telling them what they were had stirred the dormant blood in their system.

The second day was passing to a close, and the third day was dawning.

With the third day, one of them would be facing a change of some sort. It would be small at first, like a pebble tossed down a snowy mountain. Just a hint about the face, something not quite human. And then it would scream down with building power and speed until the hybrid was completely revealed in the seventh day.
