The addendum gave the Nirvana Touch many names. The Ties that Bind, the Joining of Souls, the Mating of Spirit, the Circle of Life and -the one that would really have caught Ranma's eyes - the Touch of the Virgin Mother.
Ranma was not merely channelling the chi of the world in to clear and revive Nabiki's chi. He was cycling through himself, filtering out impurities from the environment and easing out the knots in Nabiki's chi as it passed through him.
He was directly exposed to all the burdens, no memories, just the raw emotional baggage in her soul, that she had carried for years, and, as those were smoothed out, he was exposed to her purest internal self. An unbroken circle was formed between the two, their chis filtering and mixing through both of them.
Respect and admiration for Nabiki grew, and he looked up into her ecstatic face, dimmly aware of how beautiful she was, and how much more beautiful she grew as he chi was cleaned further. He could see her pure soul gradually shining through her flesh shell, and giving her a luminence that was purely heavenly.
The situation was similar in Nabiki's case, as she was given brief glimpses of Ranma's inner self. In addition to the great pleasure she was feeling, she acquired a new conviction, that she'd rid Ranma of those dark points of regret and fear that still lurked in his soul. Nabiki dazedly reached out to lightly touch Ranma's face and look into his eyes, smiling happily.
And in that instant, the connection was perfected, and as far as all the spirits of heaven were concerned, Nabiki Tendo became Nabiki Saotome. And Their collective chi's swirled, combined and...produced.

Elsewhere, Akane felt a brief twinge and had a sense of losing something, but then it was gone.

Ranma sighed in relief as he felt Nabiki's chi purified and cured completely and come to rest back in her body. He could still feel her presence somehow, the way he could sometimes feel Akane around, but the total link was no longer present.
"That was...nice, Ranma," Nabiki sighed taking a breath. "You'll have to give me another one of those some time...soon." The intensity of her feelings faded quickly, and much of what she had been experiencing became like a difficult to remember dream.
"Sure thing, Biki," Ranma said, not noticing the pet name he'd just given her.
"Careful, Ranma," Nabiki said, smirking. "They'll think I'm in the game again."
"Right," Ranma said. "I wouldn't let them hurt you." Ranma promised.
"Do you mind if I watch you practice?" Nabiki asked, she didn't feel like moving anywhere anytime soon. And while her convictions regarding Ranma were no longer crystal clear...she still had to admit to a desire to stay near him.
"Sure thing I guess," Ranma said shrugging as he turned back to the book. Funny, the pages seemed blank. Ranma shrugged, he hadn't finished reading it, but if the pages were blank, that meant he'd mastered it, so on to the next page.
