Setsuna's New Life/Zeo: Rangers of Earth [Episode 112715]

by HistorianoftheKais

Unknown to Ranma, he had been under the observation of two very old caretakers of Earth. Deep within Elyson, Helios and Zordon watched the young Saotome as the boy tried to find a means to fight the youma that were attacking Tokyo. The high priest of the former Earth Kingdom turned to the power tube that allowed the great sage of Eltar to communicate from his timewarp imprisonment and said, "We've observed Ranma for the past month Zordon. The boy fits all the categories needed to be a ranger. We cannot expect or hope for the Sailor Senshi to defeat Beryl on their own. After all, they are the foreign power in the planet's eyes and thus Gaia will not let them win over Beryl even if the former duchess has been corrupted by Metaria."

Zordon nodded his head and replied, "You are of course correct Helios. I had hoped that we might have waited until our liege Endymion could found to approve this action. The Power is not something to be lightly given to anyone. Normally, it is only the right to the King to select a ranger, but these are not normal times. Transport Ranma Saotome to the Command Center."

Ranma had been walking along the streets of Tokyo trying to find a way to negate those youma's ability to drain his chi. If he could do that, Ranma was sure he'd be able to beat those monsters. No way on earth would he allow himself to be dependent on some silly magical girls in cheesecake outfits to save him!

The pigtailed boy had just turned to go down an alley when Helios activated the transporter. Ranma saw the energy envelop him and cried out, "What the-" At this point the transportation happened and the startled martial artist was transported into the Command Center. The first words Helios and Zordon heard from their new champion was, "-Hell is going on?!" Ranma then noticed his was in a strange place and immediately took a defensive stance.

Zordon spoke up and said, "Relax young warrior Ranma Saotome. Neither Helios or I wish you any harm. In fact, we wish to aid you in your quest to fight the forces attacking Earth."

Ranma blinked his eyes when he saw the power tube and bluntly blurted out while pointing at the tube, "Why is there a talking head in a jar?"

Helios was about to pound Ranma for insulting Zordon when the great sage cut the priest off before he could say anything. Zordon then answered Ranma's question, "I was trapped in another dimension long ago when the evil currently plaguing Earth last walked free. This power tube is the only way that I can contact you from my prison."

Ranma nodded his head not really getting everything that Zordon had told him. He then shrugged his shoulders and asked, "Ya mentioned that you want to help me out. What were ya talking about?"

Zordon quickly replied, "Long ago, the Earth was ruled by a single kingdom. In the kingdom the greatest warriors were granted powers by the King of Earth to protect the planet from threats like Beryl. These empowered warriors were known as Power Rangers. I am the custodian of the Power Rangers' power: the Zeo Crystal. I wish to allow you to have access to one of the Zeo sub-crystals and revive the Power Rangers. Understand that this is a most unusual request as normally only the King or crown prince of Earth would bestow The Power to a champion. However, these are desperate times and the Power Rangers are needed. Are you willing to accept both the power and responsibility that being a power ranger entails?"

Ranma glanced over to Helios and asked, "What responsibly is he talking about?"

Helios glared at Ranma and crossly said, "The defense of Earth and obedience to the Royal Family of Earth! Power Rangers are the ultimate force for good that the Earth has ever produced. They are held to a code of honor, morality, and obedience that are absolute. To break any part of the Code of the Ranger is punishable by striping the ranger in question of his or her power. If you become a ranger, you must pledge your loyalty to Crown Prince Endymion as soon as he is found. Only your duty to protect the Earth and her people will be more important than that oath."
