But it was slightly off, almost as if he knew them one way, and they'd been switched for another. Not that he'd paid much attention to it, as he'd been around too many places for any sort of real note taking to come into it. He merely passed it off as an odd occurrence, and shrugged any major concern about it off.
That didn't mean that he wasn't about to talk about it though. "Ya know somethin' Pop? I seem ta know this place."
"Is that so?" Genma asked.
"Yeah. I can pick out a lot of stuff that seems almost like I know it."
"Hhmmm... Can you now?"
"Well, yeah. I did say that I could, didn't I? But ya know the odd thing?"
"What is that?"
"It doesn't look like the images in my mind, ya know?" the younger Saotome replied, "Everythin's just... off it somehow."
"That's because we haven't been here in a long time."
"We haven't?"
"This is where we stayed when we first got here, and we did some travelling in this area while we got used to how things are."
"Oh."
"You're not worried about it, are you boy?"
"Nah. Of course not. I just wanted ta know why it seemed like I knew it. It's nothin' major."
"That's good to hear," his father replied with total honesty. To have his son be freaked out would never do, first off because he was his son. But right now was especially bad, since the boy was about to meet his fiancee.
Years earlier they had stayed at the base with the help of a man who'd gotten them to the point where they'd learned to deal with their new world. That added to the fact that Ranma had gotten along with the daughter had brought up the possibility that the pair might just be good together. So, an understanding was reached, and Ranma had a girl who would be with her father, and about to remeet a boy from her childhood.
Of course, he didn't know how the young Katsuragi girl would take the news, but he was certain that her father would break it to Misato well enough.
