"That's what we thought you said," Setsuna replied, raising a brow as she looked at her father.
"I wonder if he's cute," Minako asked with a grin.
"I wonder if Dad's been smoking something wierd," Haruka grumbled. "I mean, pulling this out of nowhere..."
"I didn't bring this out of nothing," Soun replied. "His father and I are like brothers, and nothing would please me more than to see one of you married to Ranma."
"And why haven't you mentioned this before..?"
"Because we were waiting until he came of age. Now that he has, it is time for the engagement to be settled."
"Which also had the effect of dropping it on us with no warning," Michiru murmured, "Rather inelegant I must say."
"We just wanted to make certain that you weren't going to try and find someone simply out of hand."
"And what if we did have someone who we were involved with?"
Usagi timidly raised her hand. "I have a boyfriend..."
"See? How can she take this engagement if she's involved with someone else?"
Her father crossed his arms over his chest and nodded to himself. "So? Usagi might be have a romantic relationship, but the rest of you are free."
"That still leaves a lot of us," Honey commented.
"I know, but... Did you hear that? Saotome, my old friend, is that you?"
"Growf," replied the figure that came down the hall, bearing something that was squirming.
"Oh, wow!" Nuku Nuku said with her eyes wide in amazement, "Who invited the big teddy bear?"
"That's something that I'd like to know," Rei muttered.
Ami blinked. "Pandas usually don't act like this..."
"See Pop?!" growled the 'bundle' hanging over one furry shoulder, "You're scarin' them!"
Rei snorted. "It takes a bit more than this."
"Okay... Then he's just freaking someone out."
"But he looks so soft and furry..," Hotaru piped up.
"Oh brother... Would ya just let me down?"
The panda did as it was asked, and placed the small figure down in front of the group.
"Are you... could you be..?" Soun began.
"I'm Ranma Saotome. Sorry 'bout this."
"Well, this is interesting," Morrigan commented as she floated over to their visitor. "We were expecting something else."
"Huh?"
"When our father told us about this engagement, I expected that he wouldn't be this modern in his thinking."
"What's that supposed ta mean?"
"It means that we never expected you to have these," the demon sister replied as she reached over and hefted the pigtailed girl's shirt covered breasts.
"GACK!"
"I suppose that this isn't so bad a situation..," Haruka said.
"Eh?"
"I wasn't planning on marrying another girl," Makoto commented dully.
"But Saotome said that he had a son!"
"Looks like a girl to me," Morrigan put in, squeezing the firm mounds in her hands, "And a rather nicely put together one as far as I can tell."
"I'm not a girl!" Ranma protested. "I'm a GUY!"
"With these?"
"Gimme some hot water and I'll prove it!"
Setsuna shrugged and handed over her tea pot.
The stacked girl took the pot and poured the contents over her head, turning 'her' into a 'he'. "See?"
"That's amazing!" chirped the youngest girl.
"Uh-huh!" agreed Nuku Nuku.
Haruka frowned thoughtfully. "I wonder if I can reverse that trick for some guys I know..."
"May I have my tea pot back?" Setsuna asked.
"Sure..," the pigtailed boy replied dully as he did so. "Aren't any of ya gonna at least yell at the change?"
"Not really..."
"Too busy hunk watching," Minako commented as she got a silly grin on her face.
"The possibilities with this are astonishing..," Ami said.
Honey blinked. "I've never been able to do that sort of transformation..."
"Now this is better," Makoto drawled.
"Definately," Morrigan put in as she looped a loose arm around their new arrival, "That was a neat trick. And it must give you a lot of opportunities..."
"Yeah, right..," Ranma grumbled. "And why ain't any of ya freakin' that I turned from a girl ta a guy..?"
"Take a look around you. Do you really think that something like that could really surprise us that much?"
"Well... Hey..."
"Now you're getting it..."
"It still doesn't mean that ya can touch me... ya know like that..."
"Why not? You can do the same to me..," she teased, wiggling her chest in his field of view."
"ERK!"
"Oh, you're going to be a lot of fun..."
"You can leave the boy alone now," Setsuna suggested.
"Oh... okay..."
Ranma sighed as he watched the girl float away. "What's going on here? All Pops told me is that I'm supposed ta meet some friend of his whose daughter I'm supposed ta marry. He never said anythin' 'bout... this..."
"Where is your father?" Soun asked.
"Right behind me."
"That's a panda."
"That's him alright. He's got a curse like mine, though his other side fits real well. Lazy and fat. Just like him."
"Growf!" came a reply from a certain furball.
"Saotome?" the Tendo patriarch asked, "Is that you?"
The panda snatched up the tea pot and splashed himself with it, turning into a portly man in a gi. "Yes, old friend. It is me."
"Brother!"
As the two men hugged each other in greeting, the girls and Ranma watched while:
