"Tendo, these are all your daughters?" asked Genma, looking over the crowded room. "You da man!"
"Why do people keep saying that?" wondered Soun aloud.
"Running joke," commented Morrigan, eyeing Ranma.
"So which daughter should be engaged to Ranma?" asked Genma.
Minako started waving her hand over her head.
"All of them," suggested Morrigan with a leer. This drew glares from most of the girls present as they could see what sort of naughty idea had caught Morrigan's imagination.
"Well, it couldn't be Morrigan," said Soun thoughtfully. "I doubt your son would survive the week."
"Hey! I'm a pretty good fighter," protested Ranma.
"I wasn't thinking about fights," said Soun absently.
Ranma sulked, not getting it.
"What about the stiff looking one?" Genma asked.
"'Stiff'?" asked Setsuna, putting down her teacup.
"No, she's completely unsuitable for wifely duties, I've tried so hard Saotome, but she's got a personality that would bore a grapefruit," complained Soun.
"Excuse me?" asked Setsuna, raising an eyebrow.
"Uhm, they're right here," pointed out a suddenly nervous Ranma.
"What about the blonde?" asked Genma.
"Which one?" asked Soun.
"The tall one," appended Genma.
"Oh, she might work, but I don't think she's interested in boys."
"Excuse me?" asked Honey.
"What about the blonde with the short hair?"
"She's definitely not interested in boys," inserted Haruka.
"Hmmmm," hmmmed Genma. "What about -"
"She might find it... inelegant," said Michiru softly.
"There's that one," indicated Genma.
"I don't think she knows how to do anything except study," complained Soun, weeping freely again.
Ami frowned.
"The one with the tail is clearly unacceptable for reasons I'll go into later. What about that one?" tried Genma.
"She hates boys, oh Saotome, where did I fail that so many of my daughters have no interest in having children or actually acting like girls?" Soun reached for the bottle.
Felicia took the bottle away and considered whapping her father with it. "I think you've had too much, Papa-san."
"Hmmmm, that leaves. THAT one?" suggested Genma.
Soun gave a sad look to the bottle that was held out of reach, then turned his attention to where Genma was pointing. Sniffling, he agreed. "Yes, he should do. The engagement will be between your son Ranma and my daughter -"
