"Coop, where’s Megas? I see the control module, but where's the rest of it?" inquired Kiva as she watched Coop beat another video game.
"Megas? Oh, well, y'see, I found this old listing for a Mechanic's Shop out in Quagmire at the junk yard," explained Coop, "and it mentioned a specialist in 'unusual technology', so I showed it to Jamie and Goat. Goat gave it the thumbs up, so I thought I oughta go for it."
"Wait, you took Megas to some nowhere town for a repair? What were you thinking?!!?" shrieked Kiva.
"Calm down," urged Coop, "I got a receipt. Well, a note anyway. Well, when I got there, the front door burst open and some crazy chick tried to pound me in the ground like a tent peg!"
"Right. Megas is in this Quagmire place and you left it there with a crazy woman? Pull the other one, Coop," deadpanned Kiva.
"Hey, she wasn't the girl the listing had. Turns out she's an exchange student from Japan, and her host family's son walked in on her in the bath or something, I dunno," sighed Coop, "The real mechanic was an older lady named Azrael...Asrel...something like that. Anyway, the weird part was she had skunk ears!"
"Waitaminute, you said her name was Asrial and she had skunk ears?" interjected Kiva. "She was probably a Salusian royal or something. If it weren't for that idiot King Jerka, the Glorft wouldn't be out for galactic conquest. Anyway, did she say when it'd be done?"
"Well, she told me she didn't normally do that anymore, but she was in a bind. Her daughter was having some difficulties in Japan and her normal gear was out of commission, so she asked if I would loan her Megas for a while, just until she cleared it up. She even gave me the number for the local Earth Defense Force command center if we need the help," said Coop as he handed her the card with the EDF logo on it.
"Hmm, this isn't one of your best schemes, but if the Glorft attack and these EDF guys lose..." warned Kiva.
"Don't worry 'bout it. Jaime told me he had family in there, so they can't be that bad, right?" asked Coop.
