Nodoka Saotome was pale, ashen, and looking at the future with no hope. She always knew her husband was a stupid glutton but to sign the contract witht these conditions.
"There's no hope. No way we can avoid being dishonored is there?" Nodoka asked her son.
"Yes there is Mom." Ranma gathered his mother in his arms. "If we take control of this situation we can avoid being dishonored."
"Ranma's right Nodoka-san." Urd agreed with her fiancee. "My family's intention was not to dishonor or cause trouble for your whole family but to show that Genma has none."
"But what can be done?" Nodoka asked.
"Since Genma took Ranma on the ten year training trip you are the head of the Saotome clan, right?" Urd asked. Nodoka nodded. "You have to get rid of Genma and I do not mean kill him but divorce him and toss him out of the clan."
"You also have the power to make all engagements go away, Mom." Ranma added. "Including the Tendo one. The Tendo school is dead anyways since Akane does not even know a single basic technique from it. You must admit that with all the engagements Genma has made his word is pretty much worthless."
"But you have to make the decision, Nodoka." Urd said. "What will it be? Will you continue being the traditional housewife that Genma will take advantage of so he can get away with his crimes and you and Ranma take the blame? Or will you give Ranma a chance to have a life free of Genma's crimes? Your choice."
Ranma gave the contract he grabbed from his mother to Urd. He walked into the house with the tanned blonde leaving his mother standing and thinking.

"Do you think she will make the decision to divorce him?" Urd asked Ranma.
"No. She's too traditional of a true Japanese housewife." Ranma answered.
"I don't agree with you Ranma." Urd disagreed. "I think she will. I think with all the engagements plus this contract she has reached her breaking point." "You maybe right, Urd." Ranma nodded slowly.
