Ranma noticed Felicia still feeling a little depressed from the battle with the Arachnae and could guess why she was feeling so down. Night had fallen and they were still in the woods so they decided to set up camp.
"Still depressed you didn't do well against Arachnae?" Ranma asked.
"How did you know, Master?"
"Your actions and body language, Felicia." Ranma answered.
"Yes I am depressed that I lost and you had to save me therefore putting your life in danger, Master." Felicia explained.
"It's not your fault and I am not blaming you. You won against Spinnertit. Who could have known she would evolve like that right then and there? Noone." Ranma said. Ranma tilted Felicia's head up. "Look you did your best and that is what counts."

Off in the darkness the green-eyed woman was listening and was a little surprised the trainer wasn't punishing his pokegirl. She was being entertained alright.
She continued to eavesdrop on the master and his pokegirl.

"Listen, I'm not expecting you to win all your battles, what I'm expecting is for you to do your best, Felicia. Everyone loses and despite what my stupid Pop says it's a part of life." Ranma smiled. "Look, I may be new to this pokegirl thing but I think if a trainer expects a girl to win all the time but loses once and he punishes her for that loss he's an idiot."
Felicia nodded. Ranma had raised up valid points that she had never considered. He wasn't blaming or punishing her but giving her words of encouragement to do better next time.
The catgirl resolved to do better in the next battle and do her best all the time. She learned a lot in the battle but what she learned after the battle was just as important.
Her master was kind and understanding. Felicia had just realized what a treasure of a master she had and vowed never to disappoint him.
