The higher beings of the universe, the ones that pulled the strings, all knew the perils of sucking someone into another dimension. Sucking someone into an entirely new dimension, however, had far more dire circumstances. In cases like this, ripples from the source dimension would be sent throughout the entire universe, with other dimensions being wracked with natural disaster that could wipe out millions of lives. Indeed, the supreme rulers of the universe had to move quickly to mitigate the damage. Thus, as Ranma's old memories were ripped from her to fit her in the new dimension, they were snatched up by one of the many angels guarding the universe. What to do with them, only the highest among the pantheon could possibly decide. Indeed, the perpetrator of this atrocity, mortal or otherwise, would have to be dealt with as well. So many decisions, so little time.
This left Ranma unaware that she had been anything other than a girl who'd been taken by her mother from her crazed father at a young age and became a police officer... and a total, shameless slut. And this, as they say, is how the story goes.

Ranma smiled to herself as she stepped out of the candy shop she'd just been in, looking in her hands and seeing the cute little heart-shaped box of chocolates. Sargent Kuonji's favorite, of course. “Yep, these'll make a great give for the sarge's birthday,” she said to herself, a triumphant little smile on her face. “Maybe after the party, I can go hook up with a guy or three. Mmmm, can't wait!” With that, she hopped on her motorbike and sped off for her apartment to drop off the chocolates before heading on patrol. After all, the party was tomorrow, and she'd hate for them to get messed up while she was on duty, or bent over the hood of a car.
