It had all started out as an ordinary day: Get up, make sure pop is not about to do something too stupid, and prepare for the day to start with some serious training.
It even promised to be a little fun today, as the springs looked clean and kept the area cool. Since the weather promised to be clear, sunny and hot, the pools promised some welcome relief later. Even if the water turned out to be undrinkable, Ranma appreciated the posibility of using the cool water to rinse off after practice. It got a bit dusty, living on the road, and any source of clean water was always welcome.
The sparring was going well too. He had already scored a couple of close hits, and if he could just manage to both stay on the poles and kick his old man in the pools a few times, this day would be perfect. Lets see, how about starting out in a defensive strategy: A few bocks, parries, a kick or two, and a jump: now! And now that he had got the old man to finally loosen up a little, It was just a matter of time till somebody got sloppy. Besides, this fight was starting to get fun. Whoops! That was a little too close, gotta watch my balance a little more. Maybe it's time to pick it up a little, and push an offensive! Lets see, on this landing, avoid that low kick from the old man... Block! Deflect this incoming hit, ignore the noise from the path to the guide's hut and keep up the attack, just watch for an opening, Ranma, Pops can't keep this up forever ... There! Pop's eyes had just shifted towards the voice, so...

"Yes! A clean hit! Eat that, Old Man!"
