Ranma had never lacked attention from females. It was simple to see why that was, as he was rich, young, attractive and athletic. Any one of those would result in someone gaining some admirers, but with all of them together, it was a rather daunting situation. Girls saw him and realised that he was a pretty good catch, to put it mildly. And with the fact that he was unattached meant that he was someone to hope to get.

But the real reason for his having had feminine interest was for just one reason. He had his marionettes with him, and as they were all female, each one of them had something to bring as such. Not that he thought of them that way. They were his friends, and he'd never really pushed at the idea that they were females.

So long as they were his friends, he didn't see any need for any sort of rocking of the boat.

They each had something to bring, like training with Haruka to studying with Ami. Each one had a place with him, and he knew that they returned the feelings. That wasn't something fake, since it was a natural relationship that had grown between him and them, and wasn't programmed into them.

However, he'd noticed one start to gaze at him when she'd think that he wasn't paying attention, or simply smiling whenever he saw her. Which wasn't bad, so much, as it was... odd. He simply didn't know why she was doing that, and every time he'd confronted her, she hadn't told him a thing.

So now he was about to stumble on to the truth, which was that, while he hadn't realised it, in love with him was:
