"Halt, I say, you despicable Jihyou-ke agent!" roared Dee as she chased the mysterious maid dubbed Chikokusha-san [Miss Latecomer]. It was no doubt an agent from Jihyou, the rival family to the most noble Hanaukyou family.
This offense could not be tolerated! Not only would the Jihyou agent be... disposed of, but the family itself would feel the full wrath of the Hanaukyou family.
Ukyou turned this way and that in a blind panic. Normally, melodrama would demand that she meet up with a dead end of some kind. Fortunately, the author decided melodrama was inappropriate in this case, instead Ukyou found herself near the bath, especially the master's dressing room. Ukyou grinned and entered the room.
She spotted her spatula, leaning up against the wall as she left it. Taking it and her bandoleer of mini-spats, she exited the dressing room back into the hall, filled with confidence and the big-mother spatula drawn. Tahm ta go on th' offensive, sugah! she thought.
She was met immediately by Dee's group. Eiko and Shiiko saw Ukyou stepping out of the master's dressing room with the master's spatula and bandoleer and immediately saw it as confirmation of their theory. "Oh, goshuujin-sama! We knew it was you!" they cried with happy tears.
Dee saw things differently. "You dare desecrate the noble master's battle spatula?" she roared, bringing her sword to ready. "You shall die for this effrontery!"
"Y' c'n try, sugah!" drawled Ukyou, reading her spatula.
"That's definitely goshuujin-sama's Southern Drawl!" exclaimed Shiiko. Eiko elbowed her. "Er, I mean, that's goshuujin-sama's Kansai accent. Heh heh!"
The two fighters surged forward at the same time. The metal of the steel clanged upon the metal of the spatula, their owners grimacing as they brought their faces close together. They snarled at each other for good measure. They held for a second, before separating violently.
Dee slid across the tile floor as she landed. Ukyou bounced off the wall that she'd been forced back into, rocketing powerfully at the security maid. Dee brought up her sword to deflect the path of Ukyou's spatula. Metal rang upon metal as the two slashed and parried each other. They tried to fake each other out, goading each other into overextending, but neither took the bait.
Dee had to respect this strange woman who wielded the master's spatula; she was skilled in the use of that thing. Dee would've liked to train with this person, but duty came first. "She is strong! We must alert others!" shouted Dee.
"But this is the master!"
"This is not the master!" countered Dee. "Our master is definitely a man! This girl is definitely not!" Eiko and Shiiko made no move to activate one of the convenient Hanaukyou alert switches. There was no way she was going to activate it herself, being engaged in a bitter fight. "Fine!" growled Dee. "I shall take care of this intruder myself!" With fire in her eyes, Dee redoubled her efforts to defeat this menace.
Ukyou was beaten back a little, surprised by the power this girl was putting into her attacks. The attacks came fast and furious, and Ukyou was forced to defend. The crypto female master of the Hanaukyou manor looked desperately for an opening in Dee's defense.
It was unfortunate, therefore, that Ukyou chose this time to step on a loose tile. Ukyou stumbled.
"HAH!" shouted Dee, striking out with all of her strength at this intruder into the sacred Hanaukyou grounds. A sharp clang of metal on metal rang through the halls of Hanaukyou. The blow was so powerful that Ukyou's spatula yanked her around, out of control, and sent her stumbling backward. She turned into the stumble, trying to regain control of herself, but exposing her back to the security maid.
As Dee readied her sword to deliver the final blow,
