Setsuna's Fault/Hotaru's Sensei: Death And Time [Episode 118377]

So she swung her Time Staff around and used it to smack the yoma away. It stumbled back and, she knew that she had it, though she had to use her flexibity to its utmost to avoid the return swings that came from the scythe. That made it so that she had to pull back, but she did manage to knock it back some so that she could get to a better position.

As the blade came down at her, she twirled her Staff so that the Garnet Orb was aimed right at the chest of the creature and ready to do its job.

"... dead scream..."

The ball of energy arced up from her weapon and went right into the yoma, pulling the entire being into the blast. That stopped any return attack in its tracks, and set the cloak fluttering to the floor as she stood with dignity above her fallen opponent. Sparing a look at it, she nodded in satisfaction to herself.

And then, sure that she'd managed to do something right, she turned and looked out at the city, just in time to find out that:

• as the one who'd killed Death, she had inherited the mantle.
• without death around, no one was going to die, from insects to people, to even the most common yoma.
• there were signs that her actions had resulted in the dead not staying in their rest.
• ... the cloak was coming back up and the being was reforming.
• something else was happening.
