The next few days were odd ones for Kumori and Hitohiro Mizuno, the wandering painter and the pediatrician finding an odd new comfort in each other's presence as they continually confirmed that something bizarre had brushed their presence that night.
The boy Ranma had been adopted, but showed every sign of being related to the physician. A cousin's uncle's daughter's son, or something like that. The blue tint to his hair and those blue eyes were sufficient indication of that.
Everyone that either spoke to, if they knew the couple and of Ami, they knew of Ranma.
This had one immediate effect. The couple did not immediately seperate as they had planned. Just the fact that the other knew exactly how odd this all was kept them together for two more years than they might have been.
Eventually though, they did part. The husband to pursue his art, and to seek answers. The doctor sought instead to provide a home for her two children.
Ranma became the protective and physically oriented brother of a little genius girl named Ami. Which was fine with the two, as they might have quarrelled on occasion - there was little doubt that the two loved each dearly.
