“Boy, how dare you make your fiancée cry!” yelled Genma.
“You will go and beg for my daughter’s forgiveness now!” demanded Soun, falling into a full-blown demon-head attack.
Ranma just glared at them, not even acknowledging their attacks.
“Boy, you will listen to me now!” demanded Genma. “Oh, what did I do Soun to deserve such a worthless brat?”
“Would you like the list by date or seriousness of stupidity on your part?” asked Ranma
“Now son,” said Soun, “what kind of fiancé would you be if you hurt such an innocent and gentle flower as my daughter?”
Ranma merely shook his head. “You’re both fools,” he said. With that, he walked out, ignoring the ramblings of the two fathers.
Kasumi could only shake her head as they followed. “So much has changed now,” she murmured, before turning to see the shrine to her mother. “Please watch over Nabiki and Akane, Mother.”
Why did everything have to change? she internally yelled out.
Ranma entered back into Nabiki’s room, noticing how she started to smile as soon as he entered. The fathers would be silent for a bit, having been backhanded by Ranma when they tried to force him to go to Akane.
He couldn’t go to her ... not now, at least.
Maybe ... not ever.
“She will get better in time.”
Ranma slowly turned, spotting yet another fuku-clad girl. “And you are?”
“Sailor Pluto,” she said with a bow.
“The only reason I am not knocking you out right now is because Saturn helped her,” he said, his eyes cold.
She nodded. “I am sorry to meet you in this manner, but I felt you would prefer to talk in private.”
“How is it Nabiki ended up pregnant?” he asked.
“The spell you used had several warning that you never made it to.”
“Such as?” he asked, cursing himself for doing something so stupid as not reading everything about something before trying it. You think I would have learned from the Nekoken.
“That it should never be performed on those with whom you share a high level soul bound with.”
“And why do I have this bound with Nabiki?”
“In a past life, that book is something you and she had mastered, attaining a state of immortality. At that time, you were in love and were wed.”
“If we were immortal, what happened?”
“Immortal as in enlightened immortals. Only you may choose when you truly die, otherwise you’ll just reincarnate. It doesn’t mean you can’t be killed through certain means, it just means that you don’t die by the ‘old age’ way.”
“So ... we’re former lovers destined to meet again?” he asked.
“Something like that, such a bond can be formed from a true marriage of any sorts, but yes, you were destined to meet sometime after reincarnation.”
She decided not to mention for the moment that such a bond could also form when a sole enlightened immortal also took a different bride. Oddly enough, their souls reincarnated as well due to their link to Ranma’s soul, and thus followed him. They would become known to some Nerima residents as the Fiancée Brigade.
But he had enough on his plate at the moment, and probably didn’t need to know that at the moment.
Besides, he might not react too kindly to learning that at one point, he had been born female in the past, and married to one of Tatewaki Kuno’s previous reincarnations.
Nodding, Ranma sat down beside Nabiki, smiling a bit as she seemed to scoot closer to him. “But I doubt you came here for a simple Q&A.”
She nodded. “I need to tell you about someone who now seeks to kill your child for whatever reasons, someone who you have never met before now. Her name ... is Fei-Lei.”
