Silver Chaos Forever: All good things must come to an end... [Episode 11811]

by Jamil Nate

Ranma and Kasumi were worried. Since they shared the news with Akane, she had frozen in place. P-Chan had jumped out of her arms and ran, looking for a safer place. It was no small feat in his diminished state but fear is a powerful motivator. In his mind, he knew that if Akane exploded, the new Ranma would defend himself. No way he was getting between those two anytime soon.

He wondered if Akari would be willing to accomodate him in her farm for a little while. It couldn't hurt to ask if he found it.

Ranma had shaken his hand in front of Akane's eyes. No response besides the strangled whine she irregularly uttered "I guess it was a bit of a shock to her" Kasumi frowned. How did Ranma think she would react to such news !?

"Akane ? Akane !" Kasumi tried to snap her younger sister out of her daze. Normally, Kasumi Tendo does not get physical but so much had happened today that she wasn't her usual self. She grabbed Akane and shook her "Akane ! Wake up ! Akane !!!"

That did it. Akane regained her bearings "O... Oneechan... ? I..." Her eyes were dead "This is not a joke, is it ?" Kasumi didn't respond but her sad expression told her everything "I guess not. You would never joke about something like this... Even that baka wouldn't stoop so low..."

Ranma sighed, not sure if he shoud take it as a compliment or an insult. He took a step in her direction "Akane..."

"No !" Akane moved back to the dojo's entrance "Ranma, I... This is too much... I need time... to think" She held back her tears but the dam would break soon "Bye !" She ran to the safety of her room, knowing that this time, she had lost her fiancee for good. She kept thinking *Why ? Why ? Why ?* but no answers came.

Ranma watched his former fiancee leave but made no move to stop her. It was over betwenn them and yet he felt guilty. It didn't hurt as much as he thought it would. There was even a bit of relief in his eyes. He hadn't wanted this but Nabiki was his priority from now on.

"Ranma-kun ?" Kasumi hated to see her sister in so much distress but she knew there was no other way "What will you do now ?"

"I'll talk with Nabiki as soon as she wakes up. Then we'll decide what to do" Sadness crept into his voice "I hope she'll forgive me... I still care about her, you know... I don't want her hating me and Nabiki because I screwed up"

"I don't know, Ranma-kun. Akane loved you sincerely in her own way despite her denials. We can only give her time and hope for the best"

"This is the second time one of her sisters take the man she loved away from her. She must feel like hell" Kasumi was puzzled "What do you mean by that ?"

Ranma smirked. Good old Kasumi was still clueless on the whole doctor Tofu affair "Nothing important, Kasumi. I was just talking nonsense to myself"

"You know you'll have to break up with the other fiancees"

"Yes" Ranma's face was grim "They won't like it one bit. How many, Kasumi ?" He threw a haunted look at her.

"Ranma-kun, what ?"

"I crossed the line already at Mount Phoenix, Kasumi. How many will I have to kill to protect the mother of my child ?"

*Oh Kami, he's serious* "Ranma, I..."

Before she could finish however, a loud crash was heard and the dojo's doors gave way to...
