Ashi Ranma: Burning Books; The bitch of manliness. [Episode 119127]

by Matdeception

Ranma sighed, turning from the mass of children and faculty alike as they tore apart the library. Yeah, it was official now. He had gone too far with the whole witch-hunt thing. He didn't feel bad for doing it, just frustrated. He had such wonderful plans for Hinako, such wonderful tortures to inflict on the dominating educator. He had tried tracking her down, but when she disappeared into the ventilation system, he just gave up. It should all be taken as a lesson, he guessed. Acting impulsively had led to the school descending into a den of Chaos the like of which he hadn't seen since last Tuesday, which made any of his attempts to track down people in need of a brutal ass kicking almost impossible. Heck, he still hadn't even seen Ukyo, and she was the type to always be on the look out for him.

Leaning out a nearby window, he eyed the roof two stories up, the blazing early morning sun blinding him momentarily. Hopping out the window, he swung upwards off a branch where he twisted in midair. Gravity asserted it's rightful control over him, bringing him down quickly where he landed on the branch, using it as a spring board to propel him higher into the air, and towards the school. Landing on a second story window sill, her gripped the edge of the roof, flipping up and over the side to land on the roof. Eyeing the area and not finding anyone, he casually slid to his butt.

He really needed to think some things out, damn it.

"Yes Auntie! He hit poor Akane with a pipe this morning! He's really changed!" Kasumi bit her lip nervously, idly playing with the telephone cord as she paced back and forth. She had found his actions this morning most inexcusable, despite the rather alien pleasuring sensation she felt after he molested her. She may have liked it, even if only a little, but that still didn't erase the fact he had slammed her poor little sister with a metal pipe, choked her father to near death, and then walked up and physically accosted her, all within the span of two minutes!

"Dear.." the woman's voice sounded very concerned, "Is he there now?"

"No, he went to school." she explained, peering back into the dining room. Akane and Soun were still out of it. That was nice, she supposed, but the steady rising smoke column she could see out their back door had her alarmed a little. Wasn't the school in that direction?

"I'm coming over, dear. We'll get to the bottom of his dishonorable behavior." the woman promised, a bit of steel entering her voice as she said so.

"Oh, Auntie." Kasumi sighed, worriedly, "Maybe it's just a bad day? I think he's being.." Goosebumps rose suddenly, right where his hand had lewdly grasped her buttocks. ".. friendly?"

Nodoka responded, weirdly, "Kasumi-chan. You told me he nearly choked your father to death after brutally beating Akane-dear's head in with a pipe. How does that constitute as friendly?"

"Umm.." she blushed at that, responding hesitantly, "He.. he picked up his pipe before leaving?"

"Dear.." Nodoka sighed, "You really need to get out more."

---

There was much to consider, he realized. He'd admit it now, when he started on this little kick he hadn't really thought things out. He didn't really have the time, and this new view on life was still something new to him. It would take awhile to get use to it. Still, he managed to set a few things straight, even if he really didn't comprehend what his actions might of caused later. He smacked Akane, beamed her in the head with a metal pipe and sent her to the land of dreams. He doubted she'd be regaining consciousness soon, and he really couldn't bring himself to care about that too much. Maybe in the past he did, but that had changed some how when he woke up. It was weird, going from kinda liking a girl to beating her mercilessly, but as far as he was concerned it was a most welcome change from the normal daily grind of 'Whack-a-Ranma'.

The sound of the student body and faculty alike chanting their battle cries below reminded him of another thing he shoulda taken more care in pulling off. Nabs was in need of a harsh ass kicking, or at least as brutal as one could get with out killing them. He didn't hate her, he realized, but rather respected her for everything she had managed to accomplish within this hell known as Nerima. To be able to not only survive the daily insanity that was Nerima, but thrive and grow in it really showed just how strong that girl was. Hmm.. he also realized, balefully, that he'd need her in the future, if for no other reason then a capable lap dog doing the shit he really didn't want to do.

He'd go pull her out of that little box she was hiding in soon enough, he still had some things to think about.

The idea of going around and beating the shit out of his enemies had held a certain appeal at first, but after thinking about it, what would be different after he had managed to kick their ass? Shit would keep going the same way it always had, at least he thought so. What he needed to do was get rid of everyone. Find some way to kick the Amazon's out of his life, send Kodachi to the looney farm, bury Ukyo in her blasted sau... he sighed at that. No, despite how good it would be to see that bitch drown in her own fucking sauce, it wouldn't help him out in the long run. People tended to despise killers, at least he thought so.

"Fuck em." he grunted, staring up at the clear.. no wait, there was alot of smoke in the sky. He sniffed the air, tentatively, only idly hearing the scream from Kuno below "BURN HER OUT! BUUUUUURN HER!"

Kuno wasn't going to be much of a problem, in fact he would probably make his greatest ally when it came to screwing things up. He was so damn gullible, his insanities were easy to play on for the most part. The only thing he'd have to be wary of was his obsession with his girl side.

Back to the matter at hand, just what the hell was he going to do now that he finally had the guts to see things through? He could admit to himself he had no love for strategy, at least out of a fight. He'd need money, but how to get that.. Hmm. He'd think on it.

"OH SHIT! YOU LIT THE CHEMICAL DEPOT ON FIRE! YOU IDIOT!"

Ranma blinked, an idea suddenly coming to mind. Chemicals.. chemicals.. he snapped his fingers, jumping to his feet and exclaiming, "DRUGS BABY!" Yeah! That was it! He'd find some contacts out there, get some start up cash and start peddling drugs! Heck, he could even do it in his female form so there wouldn't be any evidence that led back to the real him! HAHAH! Yes..

He slumped then, "Okay.. still need money." he grumbled tiredly, wiping the sweat off his forehead. Okay, it was getting really, really hot here all of a sudden. Peering over the edge, he blinked, noticing for the first time the building he had been resting on was nearly consumed in a blazing inferno. "OH fuck me!"

---

Nabiki tore her shirt off, grabbing a bottle of water from the emergency supplies she always kept stuffed in here. Popping the top, she quickly wetted the aforementioned article before applying it to her mouth. The fire had blanketed the entire building in a thick smog, she was practically suffocating as it was. She reviewed her options. Stay here and die a horrid death, or get the hell out and possibly set on by a lynch mob. Gee, what options, huh?

Deciding a beating was by far less serious then assured death, she pushed on the fake wall, only to discover it wouldn't budge. Nononono, what the hell is blocking it? Panic began to set in as she realized her situation. She was one girl, trapped in a burning building, her only avenue of escape blocked off by who knew what, and it wasn't going to be opening any time soon. Great, just freaken perfect! Slamming up against the wall, she risked removing her towel from her face, almost immediately choking on the thick smoke billowing through out the room. "HELP! SOME ONE! I'M TRAPPED!" she managed to scream, continually pounding on the blasted door that kept her trapped like a rat.

Sadly, no one heard her screams.

---

Ranma had very few options left to him. Jumping from the roof, he had quickly tried to enter the building, if only to find Nabiki and drag her ass out to safety. That plan had nearly been nixed when the roof caved in from the second floor, flames spewing forth like an inferno and threatening to smother him whole. Leaping up, he kicked off the lockers, traveling over the burning flames as he did so.

Slamming into the ground, he covered his mouth with one sleeve, looking blearily up and down the burning halls. He didn't know who had the bright idea of setting the school on fire, but they were going to pay if Nabiki died in this little mess. He needed her help, damn it. Taking off towards the library, he was thankfully the flames in this side of the building didn't seem as bad. The only problem he had, though, was the thick smothering smoke that filled the halls, threatening to choke him to death. Just great.

He blinked, stopping as the sound of a childish cough managed to reach his ears. He looked around weirdly, trying to track just where that cough had come from. Tentatively, he continued on his way, ears strained to the utmost lest he miss another cough. He only managed two steps when the childish cough returned, followed by the sound of some one banging their hand against thin metal. Looking up, he could barely make out what was a ventilation shaft overhead. "What the heck?"

"Help me! Some one! I'm stuck!" he heard, the voice was soft, like a child’s, sounding fearful, horrified, and on the verge of panic. He also recognized the owner of the voice, he had heard it plenty of times by now.

Jumping up on the lockers, he pressed his hands against the ventilation shaft, "Hinako?" he yelled, tapping the surface curiously.

"Ranma!" the girl in the shaft squealed, "Help me! I'm stuck!" she coughed a bit, "It's dark! I'm scared!"

Ranma frowned. He was torn between the desire to leave her there, and between the knowledge that she had yet to truly suffer for all the pain she had done to him. His decision was quickly made at that point, death to soon would be a blessing, not a curse. He'd have his fun first. "I'm gonna tear this thing apart!" he yelled in warning, only moments before he slammed his fist into it. The metal crumbled as if it was made of nothing more the foil. Gripping the edges, he ignore the pain of the metal's sharp edges biting hungrily into his hands. Ripping a rather large opening, he peered in. There, about a foot away, Hinako was slowly crawling her way towards the opening. Her movements were slow, painfully slow, in fact the poor girl looked ready to faint right there. He couldn't blame her if she did, the ventilation system was packed filled with the deadly smoke that had already smothered this side of the school. Reaching in, he grabbed her smaller arm, pulling he roughly the rest of the distance and yanking her out of the shaft. Jumping to the floor, he flipped the girl over in a fireman carry. Apparently she had passed out some where in there. Whatever.

The trip to the library was quick, busting into the room he had to fight the reflexive urge to gag. The smoke was already threatening to smother him whole, and if that happened he held no illusions that he, Hinako, and Nabiki would die here. Forcing his way to the fake bookcase that held the bomb shelter, he had to put Hinako down in order to clear a book case from the opening. It apparently had fallen down on some point, blocking the door so no one could get in or out. Whatever. Pulling the door open, he turned his eyes away as billowing smoke began to pour out. Back tracking and grabbing up Hinako, he stormed into the room.

Nabiki was lying unconscious on the floor, her shirt lying nearby. He ignored the fact she was naked top up, the threat to his life doing a fine job of that. Glancing back, he scowled. Going back that way would probably end up with him passing out at some point. Setting Hinako down next to Nabiki, he quickly ripped his jacket off. Damn this shit was hot. Feeling the wall on the other side of the room, he idly wished he possessed Ryoga's practical instinctual ability with the Bakusai tenketsu. The point was moot, however, since he didn't.

Backing up, he cupped his hands out in front of his chest, closing his eyes as he concentrated inward. Bluish black motes of energy appeared in the air around him, before flashing towards his cupped hands. As each mote slammed into his hands, they vanished, only to reappear as part of the greater whole. A shimmering ball of energy quickly manifested in his hands. Gritting his teeth, he inwardly prayed to whoever the fuck was listening to get him through this. Forcing his hands forward, the blast of energy shot out like a rocket, slamming into the wall and blowing a rather large hole through it. He managed to catch a glimpse of what laid on the other side, and was thankful for the fact it was the courtyard where he always ate Lunch. Grabbing both Hinako and Nabiki in fireman carries, he quickly got the hell out of there!

---

Ranma tiredly stumbled into the house. The sun had already set, and night had descended on Nerima. After escaping that blasted school he had taken both girls to the hospital immediately. They were fine, except for some light scarring on their lungs from smoke inhalation. Still, it was better then being dead, as far as he cared. He had to put up with an examination himself, they had even refused to let him leave until the doctor had cleared him! Well, to hell with that. One unconscious orderly later, and a sudden dive out the Window when he noticed Kasumi, Soun, Akane, and his bastard Father coming down the hall, no doubt called by the doctors because little Nabs got hurt. Whatever.

Tiredly kicking off his sandals, he moved towards the living room, hopping on the couch and grabbing the remote as he did so. At least he'd get a few hours peace and quiet before they came back and started pissing him the hell off again.

"Hello, Ranma." a rather upset, and cold voice responded from his side. Blinking, her turned and found his mother staring him directly in the eye. Whoa.. he was so out of it he didn't even realize she was there!

"Whoa! Ma! What the heck you tryin ta do, give me a heart attack." he pressed his hand against his chest to prove his point, looking as if he had actually been hurt by that surprise.

She gaze merely hardened in response, she obviously wasn't in a joking, or mothering mood. Whatever. "Son, what happened today?"

"Eh?" he scratched his head, then shrugged, "Fire. School burnt down, saved Nabs and my teach. So what?"

Nodoka blinked. She knew the school had nearly burnt down, and that Nabs had been taken to the hospital, but she hadn't heard about him saving her. She was thankful for that, of course, it was always good to hear her son was looking out for others. So manly. "I meant this morning, with you're fiancée, with Soun?" she stressed the word fiancée as she said that. He rolled his eyes, no wonder she was upset.

"Look ma, I ain't marryin that dyke. Not now, not ever." he replied, bitterly. Truthfully he didn't think Akane was a dyke or any such nonsense, he just didn't like her.. at least not since he woke up this morning.

"You're personal opinions on the matter mean nothing." the woman snapped, which surprised him some what, "She is you're fiancée, it's you duty to take care of her! It.. is most unmanly to attack her like you did."

Ranma raised an eyebrow curiously, "Wait.. yer sayin if I don't marry her or some crap, it ain't manly?" He scowled, dangerously, "You thinkin bout makin me and pops do tha sepukku thing?"

Nodoka actually nodded at that, which galled him to no end. "I did not give up my son for all these years to see him not become the manly man I was promised he would be." she scowled, viciously, "As you're mother, I insist you do the honorable thing and apologize to Akane, do you understand me, Ranma?"

Ranma glared at the woman. This was one thing that had always bugged him about her, her obsession with all things manly. Why was it so important he be that way? Why did she always want him fucking around with girls he'd sooner get his balls cut off then sleep with? It was seriously pissing him off, everything she ever did with him was in some vein or another an attempt to turn him into a gigolo. "Akane can kiss my ass.."

The sound of sword being drawn did little to calm his nerves, or quench his anger. When the business end of her Katana flashed menacingly, not anymore then a few inches from his nose, he knew his mom meant business. He gulped then, "Ah.. alright.. apologize ta Akane.. yeah.. be manly.." he nodded nervously, while inwardly seething hateful. She wanted him to be manly? Wanted him to apologize to Akane? Oh this bitch was going to get it, and get it good. He just needed to think of a way how.

Nodoka grinned then, a happy little thing now that she had laid down the law. "I knew you would see it my way, son. I'm proud of you."

"Bitch." he mumbled, far to softly for his mother to hear. He swore then, come high or hell water, his mother was going down.
