Ashi Ranma: Gems, a Book, and a Plan [Episode 119291]

by Matdeception

Ranma didn't even bother coming down for breakfast the next morning, opting instead to rise early and escape into the city streets before Akane came and woke him up. He knew they had come back last night from the hospital, tired but relieved that Nabiki had been fine. He supposed it was a blessing in disguise, the fact she didn't seem to remember much of what happened that day. Or, at least he didn't think she did. If she did, and ratted him out, he held no doubts the looney squad would have come up and harried him for his actions.

"Fuck that." he grunted, quickly taking to the roofs as he made way into the dying night. Looking east, he could see the tell tale signs of the sun's fiery rays battling with the darkness, slowly pushing it back as it did so. He supposed it was pretty, but the feeling he usually got viewing such a thing wasn't there. It was disconcerting, seeing things differently ever since yesterday. Whatever, he was damn glad whatever had changed him had done so; the life of a walking punching bag didn't suit him. Not one bit.

Leaping upon the roof of the Neko-haten, he quietly expanded his senses into the house below. Cologne was awake in her room, though her Ki seemed kind of docile, quite and peaceful. Probably meditating. Looking for the other goofs, he let out a relieved breath to find their aura's of that of people when they sleep. Good, meant no uber slut or blind duck bitch would be there to get in his way.

Dropping to the ground behind the establishment, he kept a careful eye on Cologne's aura as he approached the back door. She may be meditating, and he may be employing every sneaky little trick, Umi-sen-ken included, to be doing this, but he really didn't want to take chances with the old bat. He really needed to get an Uzi to deal with that woman. Shelving that thought for later, he curiously pulled the back door open. A question about just why it wasn't locked surfaced in his head, before he rationalized all three inside as being idiots. Honestly, who doesn't lock their doors, in Nerima no less! Idiots.

Sneaking in, he subtly altered the ki in his eyes, adjusting them to the near total darkness of the room within. Cologne's aura shifted a bit through his senses, but he paid it no mind as he moved to the back room. While he worked here, this was the one room Cologne expressly forbade him, or anyone from entering. He hadn't cared at the time, and he doubted Mousse or Shampoo wanted to risk the old bat's wrath, but with his recent revelation the impulse to just bust in and fuck things up had been too hard to resist, and after a lifetime of resisting these impulses, he wasn't about to start again any time soon.

It was a matter of child's play to pop the lock; it however was extremely difficult to do so with out the meditating midget upstairs becoming aware of his presence, an act that had required nearly twenty precious minutes of his time to do it quietly. Easing into the room, the first thing he noticed was the clear smell of vanilla in the air, like some one had been burning incense recently or some crap. He ignored it, closing the door behind him. The room was small, maybe ten feet by teen feet, walls packed to the gills with books upon books upon books. In the middle of the room was some kind of weird looking shrine with a rather grotesque looking statue in the middle.

All of this wasn't anything surprising. What had surprised him, and damn near sent him into a panic, was the fact when he closed the door he could no longer feel Cologne's Ki from upstairs. This was a problem, but he could deal with it. The fact he couldn't feel ANYTHING outside of the room he had broken into was very, very disconcerting. "Some type of nothin zone?" he groused, scratching his chin curiously. Whatever, not like it really mattered.

Raising his thumb, a brief if bright ki flame erupted. If he couldn't feel shit outside, he doubted anyone could feel him in here, besides it was dark as shit and he really couldn't see that well. He set about searching the room in earnest...

Nodoka frowned, setting her tea cup down, "He's gone?"

"He left a note, said he had some things to do before tonight." Kasumi sighed, nibbling on a cracker. It was still far too early for breakfast, and Akane hadn't even risen up as she normally did. Not that she could blame her, with the school burnt down, and their late night adventure to the hospital, she didn't doubt the girl was exhausted. She knew she was.

"I see." she responded, sounding thoroughly disappointed at that. "I had hoped a stern talking would have helped things.. but if he's trying to avoid everyone because of it.."

Kasumi sighed, "I don't think it's like that, Auntie. He's just going through a phase..." It had been her suggestion to Nodoka to have a stern talk with the boy, but by the rather tired and disappointed look, she supposed it hadn't gone as well as she planned.

"Maybe." the Saotome Matriarch allowed, "If you see him tonight, could you tell him I'm not upset with him?"

She blinked, "Auntie? You aren't staying tonight?"

"No." the older woman shook her head in the negative, "I have some things to take care of tonight, I doubt I'll be able to return here until late in the night." she shook her head, stopping Kasumi before she could reply, "And while I appreciate the offer, dear, you shouldn't need to stay up late waiting for me on my account."

"Oh.. I see."

---

Ranma blinked once, twice, and then thrice at what he had discovered. Most of the crap in here wasn't really all that interesting, books on ancient history about some muff diving dykes, cook books, and a whole slew of other crap he didn't find all that interesting. What he did fine made him grin evilly, however.

"Didn't think there was anymore of these, much less three." he raised the small bracelets up, eyeing them curiously, or more importantly, the small oval gem looking things that were attached to them. He knew they weren't gems, and realized these blasted things had caused him a hell of allot of trouble in the past. One of the bracelets were nearly empty, probably the one he had been involved in, the others were full however, and even labeled for their effects. He grinned at that, popping off a certain gem from both of the bracelets, before returning it where it belonged. There was also a leather bound black book that had the title of 'Forbidden Ki' that he pocketed, more from curiosity at what it contained then anything else. He really wished he had more time to go through this crap, but time was against him, the old bat wouldn't stay up there mediating forever.

Putting things back where it had been when he had first come into the room to the best of his memory, he pocketed the two 'gems' before sneaking back out. He realized his effort to make it look like no one had been there was a vain one, as he stared balefully at the lock he had broken off to get into the room. Ah it figures, oh well, he'd doubt anyone would suspect him of being the culprit. At least he hoped so, quickly retreating out of the establishment and taking to the roofs in a dead run.

Soun looked up at Akane as she came slowly down the stairs. Turning to the clock, he sighed, "Good afternoon, Akane."

Akane grumbled, moving on. Truthfully she couldn't ever remember sleeping as late as she had, which wasn't a bad thing she guessed. With school a burning rubble, and Nabiki in the hospital, not to mention the brutal pipe smack to the head yesterday, her nerves were shot. "Morning daddy."

---

He gave the 'gems' in his hand a long, hard look. He knew what they were, what they did, and the potential they held to totally screwing anyone who he used them on over. The problem he had however, was just who he should use them on. He couldn't think of anyone offhand that he cared to use it on, because out of everyone he knew he'd rather beat the living shit out of them, or kill em, instead of wasting this precious gift on. Argh, this was going to take some serious thought on his part.

Carefully tucking the gems away, he turned his attention to the book he had stolen from Cologne. Most of it was written in Mandarin Chinese, but the figure drawings littered throughout the pages gave him a small idea as to what they meant. It focused mainly on the inner body, something about pressure points, with a few actually pointing to something like Ki, or Spirit, or Air, whatever the hell. It was the last few pages that grabbed his attention, mainly because pictures of himself, Happosai, Ryoga, Genma, and even Soun were stapled to a few of those pages, and because it was the only pages written in Japanese.

"Khu Lon; Matriarch of the Seventeeth, to Tweentieth Cycle; As the honored elders of the past have written, she too adds this forbidden knowledge to the book of Black Rites, let them..." blah blah blah. He skipped all that pontificating crap, getting right to the nitty gritty.

"Happosai has always been a topic of which had earned my complete attention. Not for his thieving ways, or his actions that have cast dishonor upon the Tribe, but for his manipulation of the inner spirit. He and a handful of martial artists I've discovered have tapped into their spirits, channeling their energies through an emotional crux to achieve supernatural feats. Fire blasts of energy, create weapons out of simple things like cloth, to even creating rather localized illusions of themselves. Happosai possesses the ability to draw out the latent female Chi left behind in undergarments, using this energy to empower himself. While this ability was first written into the book by Tau Paus of the twelve Century to the Thirteenth, I believe I've discovered a more practical use of this ability."

Ranma blinked. "The heck?" as the script continued on in it's description of an Action empowered technique, where by performing certain actions directly linked with one's personality and general demeanor could be used as a way to draw in more and more energy. It was like simply being yourself, only just by being yourself you were getting stronger and stronger with each act linked to your own perceptions.

"Okay, that doesn't even make sense." he grumbled, trying to figure this out. If he was an arrogant ass, and went off to prove that over and over again, then some how he'd be able to draw in energy to supplement his own? How the heck did that work? Argh! Damn this shit. He slammed the book closed, tucking it away as he did so, aggravated with it all. So what if Happosai could draw in energy from being a pervert? Who gave a damn? It's not like you could go around being a saint, drawing in energy from all the good deeds yah did.. he blinked. "People.." that's right. Happosai drew in energy left behind by women. If a saint went around doing good things, would it be unbelievable he'd be able to draw in all the good feelings or some crap? Argh.. that still wasn't anything to go by, at best just a stupid concept.

"Mommy! Mommy! Buy me a candy!" a spoiled little brat screamed. Peering over the edge of the roof, he watched as the mother forcibly dragged the boy out of the store, snapping, "No! You don't want to get fat do you?!?" to which the kid replied, "But mommy! You always eat candy, and you aren't fat!"

He ignored them from that point, the scene serving only to bring his heated anger of his mother back to the for. When he had first changed, he really hadn't thought about her, but last night really hammered home the fact all this shit started with her. Gave him up to that bastard Genma, causin everythin to happen just cause she wanted a son whose entire purpose revolved around slamming his cock into some whore's snatch and pumping out kids so she could ruin their lives also. The fact he realized his entire life turned out the way it had because she gave him up did nothing put piss him off more, and more, and more.

He blinked then. A plan coming to mind. "Oh mom.. you'd be so proud of me." he smirked, grinning madly, "You'll be so proud of your manly son." he took to his feet, quickly heading back to the Tendo's. This would take some thinking, and timing, but he couldn't think of a more fitting revenge then this.
