Ashi Ranma: Fatherly Idiots; She can't escape!; Concerns, and more concerns [Episode 119575]

"Genma." Soun intoned, setting his newspaper aside as he gave his friend a very serious look, one that was almost alien to the Patriarch of the Tendo clan.

"Hmm? Tendo?" Genma ripped his eyes off the starry skies.

"We need to.." Soun trailed off as Kasumi came in from the kitchen, gathering used dishes and such, before returning to the kitchen. "Saotome, I think it's time we discuss your son's.. rude behavior." More like psychotic, but at least he made an attempt to be polite. He had been thinking on this issue since yesterday, and if his precious little Nabiki hadn't been caught in that fire and forced to the hospital, he would have confronted his friend about it the night prior.

Genma hmmed, nodding seriously, "He went too far."

"To far?" Soun hissed, "He hit my darling Akane with a pipe! Nearly choked me to death! Then he accosted Kasumi! To far isn't enough to describe it!"

"I know.." the Saotome patriarch sighed, "I think he's just upset about the failed wedding..." at least he hoped so.

"A groom doesn't tend to assault the bride with blunt objects, Saotome!" he conveniently ignored the fact the bride had done the exact same thing, on more then one occasion. After all, Akane was an Angel, she just had trouble showing affection. Those little love taps clearly spoke of how much she cared for the boy, at least he thought so.

"True." his partner in crime agreed, quieting down as Kasumi returned, picking up more dirty dishes from the night's dinner, and disappearing back into the kitchen. "Y'know, Tendo, maybe this thing was a blessing in disguise?"

"How so, Saotome?" he blinked weirdly as Genma stared off. Following his gaze, he frowned curiously as it led to the kitchen. What was he getting at?

"Maybe we're going about this all wrong. Maybe Ranma doesn't even want to marry Akane, and all this was some type of technique to show us the truth?" he hmmed at that. Anything Goes Subtle Insight Attack. It had potential. Gazing back at Soun, he continued before the other man could interrupt, "He doesn't want to marry Akane, so he hits her. You try to force him, so he chokes you. Then he goes and touches Kasumi in a way that just screams he has feelings for the girl. Maybe he's tryin to tell us he loves yer Kasumi..."

Soun blinked once, twice, then thrice. It made sense, in and oddly Genma sort of way. Why.. yes, now that he was thinking about it, it really did make sense. Perfect sense in fact! Oh, how could they have been so blind all this time! All the heartache, all the pain they had gone through to get their children together could have been avoided if only they had paid attention from the get go! Ranma loved Kasumi, and was striking out against them because he was too honorable to out right say he wanted to marry her, especially after they had put so much emphasis on him marrying Akane! Oh, oh the shame! "Saotome.. we need to correct this!"

Genma nodded, grinning brightly as Kasumi came back from the Kitchen. "Oh Kasumi-chan..." he began, in a fatherly tone.

Kasumi blinked, "Yes, Uncle?"

"Kasumi.." he eyed the girl a bit more seriously, "Call me father."

Soun nodded, "Yes, call him father. After all, it's what we've always hoped for!"

"Daddy?" Kasumi felt a rather nervous knot form at the pit of her stomach. She suddenly felt like running, running and hiding like a scared little girl.

"Rejoice Kasumi!" Soun crowed, "No longer will we stand in your way! Go! Go claim Ranma as your own! We can marry you this night! Oh happy day, my daughter's getting married."

Kasumi blinked, absorbing that information and what they were truly saying to her. Stumbling abit as she suddenly became light headed, her heart nearly skipped a beat in her chest as she exclaimed, "Mmmarried? Ranma?" before collapsing in a dead faint.

Genma sighed happily, "Ah, she's so filled with joy she fainted. How cute."

---

Ranma scowled, hefting up his old traveling pack, before pointlessly slamming it to the ground roughly. Why?!? Why did nothing ever go his way! Why were the Kami's cursing him so!?!? He had come back just in time for dinner, set to begin implementing his master plan against that bitch who called herself his mother, only to find out she had gone out and wasn't going to be back tonight! Argh! Not fair! Not fair! When he decided to see about getting some revenge on Akane, a plan he was just making up as he went, he discovered she had decided to visit Nabiki in the hospital! He supposed that was fine, since he really hadn't thought of anything to get back at the girl yet. Grrr, just thinking about that bitch, all the hammer strikes, all the name calling, it got his blood boiling.. He sighed then, smiling tenderly as he mumbled out, "Then she'd smile.. and everything would be perf.." he stopped himself, idly slapping himself for going all nostalgic on himself.

Okay, screw this. Opening the window, he leapt out and began making his way to his mom's house. She'd have to come back some time, damn it!

---

Nabiki stared out the window of her boring sterile little hospital room. All she wanted to do was get the heck out of here, but the doctors refused. So what if she had been in contact with the smothering smoke longer then Hinako, she felt fine damn it. She sighed, rubbing her forehead tiredly. Calm down girl, you really need to think things out, like, what the hell caused Ranma to go nuts all of a sudden.

"I don't know what to make of him, Nabiki." Akane sighed, resting her head on the side of the bed. "He's acting really weird, and he won't stay still long enough to talk to me."

She couldn't help but snort at that, "Weird huh, gee, didn't notice."

"Nabiki?" Akane raised her head curiously, "Is something wrong?"

She quickly shook her head at that. She had refrained from telling anyone just why she had been hiding in that little hole, more from the fact it was Ranma himself that had saved her from suffocating to death. She didn't believe for a second that little charity on his part meant everything was fine and dandy, she really didn't know what the heck to make of it all. "No, just tired." she defended, tiredly. "Just give him some room for a few days, whenever these know it all doctors let me out, I'll give him my full attention."

"Ah.." she hesitated before answering, "Thanks Nabiki." left off was the intense relief she felt at that. Knowing her sister was there, willing to help her figure out just what was wrong with the guy meant a lot to her, it really did. The fathers were no help, and it felt awkward asking Kasumi to help, especially in light of what they said Ranma did to her. It was aggravating, knowing he had touched her like he did, and just begged the realization that maybe her dear older sister wasn't as innocent as she seemed to be. No! She shook her head, refusing to believe Kasumi was capable of stabbing her in the back like that.

Cologne sighed, waving Shampoo off, "Go and get some sleep, child. It was nothing more then a sentimental trinket." she lied smoothly.

"If Grandmother say so." Shampoo tiredly yawned, heading up the stairs to bed. When they had discovered the break in, Cologne had set her and Mousse on the search. The whole day they looked up and down over the store, but couldn't find hide nor hair of that little black book. It was galling to know some one could get in and out of here with out being noticed, at least to her it was. What if whoever it was tried to attack them in their sleep? She blinked then, grinning while thinking ecchi thoughts about a certain pigtailed boy. She wouldn't mind if he snuck in one night, no ma'am she wouldn't.

Cologne sat, staring at the door and the broken lock that had once kept her private study secure. It had taken nearly all day to catalogue what was there, and what wasn't. The book was one thing, simple a copy of the original back in the village. It's theft would be dealt with harshly, if they ever discovered who stole it. No, while that was a slight against her honor, the more important theft was the pills. To the fact, the Forever Love pills she had been saving just in case everything here began to go sour. She couldn't use it on the boy, it was forbidden by the council to go to that extent, unless she made an equal sacrifice to make up for the mental 'rape' she would cause the boy because of it. If it had gotten bad enough, she would have made Shampoo and Ranma take the pills, which would have satisfied her honor in that regard. Yet now that avenue had been taken, stolen away in the night by a daring thief.

"Who.." she grumbled tiredly. Her first thoughts went to Happosai, but it couldn't be him. She had mailed him to China last week, and doubted he'd be back any time soon, at least not until he got some one to remove all those dirty jock straps. Ryoga? She laughed at that thought. That boy had no understanding of the word subtle. There were only four people she could think of with the means to do such a thing, the kunochii in the Chef's service, Sasuke in service of the Kuno's, Genma or Ranma with their Umi-sen-ken. She had to laugh at the thought of Ranma doing something like that, the boy knew all to well what those pills could do, and if he had broken in he would have stolen them all just to be rid of them. After all, all it took to rope that boy in was a day long pill, a quick shiatsu massage for her granddaughter to assure pregnancy, lots of water, and some time alone. No, Ranma couldn't have done it. She'd need to investigate the others, though..
