Setsuna's Fault/Hotaru's Sensei: Don't You Know It's The Eve Of Destruction [Episode 119169]

by Kestral

The timeline was inviolate. The ordained future firmly on track.

And it was entirely her fault.

"Can you go back in time and change it so you didn't do it?" suggested Ami.

"Am I the only one around here concerned with paradoxes?" grumbled Ranma.

"No, I can't change my own past," said Pluto. "Were it anyone else, I might be able to manage it. My connection to the Gates Of Time make it impossible."

"What if you went back in time and blew up the Gates before you first used them?" suggested Ranma.

"Now who's talking paradox?" snapped Pluto.

"Are you all right, Pluto-san?" asked Sailor Moon.

"Oh, I'm fine," said Pluto. "I just found out I'm personally responsible for the Great Freeze, where every living thing is frozen in crystal for a thousand years until Sailor Moon can break free and save a few hundred lives as Neo-Serenity. At which point death is once again reinstated and all those left entombed can at last die. Oh yes, I'm just peachy."

"You don't look fine," said Sailor Moon, somehow missing the thick sarcasm.

"How do you restart the process of death?" asked Ranma.

"HOW SHOULD I KNOW?!" yelled Sailor Pluto before the question fully clicked. When it did she blinked wide eyes.

"It takes one thousand years for Usagi-chan to figure it out?" asked Mercury, beginning to work on her computer.

"...or to accumulate the necessary power in the Ginzuishou," said Pluto. She wanted to hope, but didn't dare to.

"Wow, if the planet's crystallized, then all those endangered species are wiped out too," noted Venus. "The animal rights groups would really hate you. Not only did you kill off humanity but you wrecked the environment."

"Gee thanks for pointing that out," said Pluto, discovering a gift for sarcasm. "I might have missed that."

"No problem," said Venus, wondering why she felt as if she'd been slapped.

Something in Sailor Saturn hardened at the thought of all this and her grip tightened on her glaive. "I haven't even had the chance to really live yet, but now I have to die..."

Ranma moved his chair closer so he could reach out and touch her arm. "Let me get together with your friends here. Maybe we can come up with an alternative."
