However, having the Garnet Orb flash, and having the Time Gate slam shut in her face immediately told her to beware what she was looking for. There had been times when her Staff had protected her on its own, and she didn't think it wise to ignore it now. After all, if it was enough to make this sort of thing happen, she didn't think that it could be good news.
That could mean a lot, since that left many possibilities open. After all, if Ranma had come from whatever it was, it might not be good. On the other hand, if he was a survivor of whatever had caused the safety protocols to act, then he was one lucky boy. Unfortunately, she just had too little information to tell either way. As it was, he could be a reincarnated sea monkey from some mystical aquarium.
What she needed was facts. She needed to know where he had come from, what he was doing, and what sort of effect he'd have on the future. And she had to find all that out without risking any chance of disengaging the safety protocols. Her skin was nice right where it was, in her opinion. Besides, she didn't want to possibly allow something that dangerous to get out of where it was.
