“It’s a little bit of this, it’s a little bit of that, it’s a little bit of something else,” Professor Oak observed wishy washily. “It all depends, you see. Some spirit animals are agressive and respect only strength, others respond more to kindness. We try to match them to your personality. We hardly ever get it wrong and anyway, our insurance is fully paid so no worries. So in you go, Misty, give it your best shot. Okay?”
“That doesn’t sound very reasuring,” Misty complained nervously as the Professor edged her through the chamber door.
The door swung shut behind her, and the multiple bolts and latches clanged out a secure lock-down. “That’s not very reasuring at all!” Misty commented as she looked around the chamber.
Then a tube reached down from the center of the chamber’s roof until the base latched down on the floor. The tube lifted back up, releasing the goo inside, and the creature floating within. It slowly aroused itself as if from a long sleep and became aware of Misty. She found herself confrounted by:
