Physicial abilities were augmented slightly, but not very much, Ranma's training left little room to increase those abilities, at least not right away.
Mental abilities were very much enhanced though, to help him gain a social tact, heal some minor brain damage (Genma's training trip) and would increase the speed at which he could learn and adapt. He wasn't given any new knowlege, but the Ginzuishou would help him use and assimalate any new information he came across.
The curse, however, was the main problem. Sorting though Ranma's memories the crystals semi-sentant intellegance knew that Ranma disliked the curse and was a problem in most social situations, yet he had found it useful upon occasion. Hence the Crystal altred the curse from water-controlled to thought controlled. It also placed a new addition to the spell, which would alter Ranma's current clothing to fit his gender. Essensally if Ranma turned female, what he was wearing would change to become a female version of itself. (IE: Tuxedo to a Ball Room Gown, Tank Top and Boxers for bed to an oversized shirt and panties, ect)
Lastly the Ginzuishou looked at the Neko-Ken. To the Ginzuishou fear of cats wasn't something Ranma should have. As it's new weilder it made Ranma royalty, and the on the Moon back during the Silver Millenium talking cats served as advisors. The Ginzuishou found, however, that it was a powerful style that could augment his current abilities, hence the semi-aware crystal began to erase the fear of cats that was carved into him, as well as bring the full style into his conscious use.
There was a minor problem however, to use the Neko-Ken to his full advantage Ranma must have some cat-like traits. Searching through the Etheral Streams of the world it sought out information that it could use. Once assemilated the crystal made a decicion to change Ranma into a were-cat, since becomeing a were-cat would not only allow him to use the Neko-Ken to it's full power, but also enhance his physical abilities further.
Next it decided to help defend it's new user from possible threats. As a were-cat Ranma would be weak against both silver and magic. To the Ginzuishou this was not acceptable, the senshi's powers were magic and then outers weaponry had silver with in them. The semi-aware crystal decided that since Ranma must be a were-cat, it would correct the magical weaknesses of one. Limited magical protection it could create, which would counteract a were-creatures weakness to it. Magical damage to him now would be like magical damage to him before becoming a were-cat.
The crystal also decided that since Sailor Pluto may become Ranma's main adversary to grant him immunity from temporal magic.
While magic attacks it could counter-act, silver was such an ingrained weakness into were-creatures that even the Ginzuishou could not remove it. The crystal could , however, grant limited-resistance. He could touch silver, but if it were to cut his skin it would damage him as much as any other were-creature.
The Ginzuishou then looked over it's work and found no more correctible flaws. Any other flaws were either incorrectible, or would create more flaws. It would now focus upon a new objective for itself, one that would do Data of Star Trek fame proud.
Advance itself from semi-awareness to self-awareness.
Meanwhile...
