Justice League Nerima: He was a superman all along... [Episode 12164]

by Jamil Nate

The appearance of Green Lantern had other effects. Now that a superhero had decided to make a stand against crime and the forces of Evil, others with or without powers followed his example and joined the fight on the side of good.

Some of them would band together and create a modern legend, a team of heroes dedicated to the protection of innocents and the upholding of justice.

This is their story. The tales of the Justice League Nerima.

Keitaro Urashima was walking in a random direction. His life had gone through the blender again but this time, things were different. He had not done anything wrong but was paying the price of his errors and those of others.

He thought he loved Narusegawa Naru, the girl he had promised to go to Todai with when they were kids. But that love hadn't survived a single obstacle. This year's exams results had come : Keitaro was accepted and Naru was not, simple as that. The three-years Ronin had finally managed to succeed where Narusegawa the genius student failed for a third time.

To say that she was pissed at the situation would be an understatement. Once they were back at Hinata-sou for the congratulations party, Naru exploded into anger when she saw the 'Naru and Keitaro, good luck in Todai !' banner and proceeded to thrash him once and for all. This wasn't pervert-bashing, it was raw violence for its sake this time. Keitaro's heart shriveled up and died when he finally saw Naru's true face : jealous, violent, prideful and superficial.

Something snapped in him. The act he had kept since he was born was dropped. Naru struck, eager to see the blood of the pervert who dared do this to her, and could only scream in pain as her fist broke from the impact !

Naturally, the other Hinata residents, except for Mutsumi, Kanako and Shinobu, took Naru's side and tried to teach him a lesson. Motoko's bokken exploded into splinters when she tried to cut his head off. Keitaro shrugged off the explosive mecha-tamas sent at him by Su. A flying sake bottle didn't faze him at all. Nothing seemed to be able to hurt him anymore.

Keitaro snorted and disgust was clear on his face "It is clear I'm not wanted here. Goodbye" He went to his room, packed up his affairs and left. No one stopped him, out of fear or respect, he didn't know.

Since he had been a little child, he had been stronger, faster and tougher than anyone. The glasses he wore were for show, he had a perfect sight and more. His parents told him to hide his gifts in order for him to lead a normal life. This was the reason he survived living at Hinata-sou. A normal human would have been killed from the start.

Something was calling him, he had ended up in a small clearing near rice fields in the vicinity of his parents' home. He dug the earth for several minutes, obeying an irresistible impulse. He found several glowing crystals wrapped up in a towel with a weird symbol looking like a S in an inverted triangle.

He took the crystal who was shining the most in his bare hand. A three-dimensional image of a man in his thirties, wearing a robe with the towel's symbol, appeared and spoke.

"Greetings, Kal-El, you have come of age and it is time you learned of your true origins"

Keitaro blinked "Who... Who are you ?"

The image smiled sadly "I am Jor-El, your real father, and you are the last son of Krypton. You weren't born on the planet called Earth and your powers, granted to your kryptonian physiology by the yellow sun of this solar system, are the proof of your heritage"
