Ganthet looked down at the young man, and smiled. Kyle would need help with his Green Lantern Corps, and especially Earth; this youth would do well. The young man was a marvel at improvisation; he pulled ways to win out of thin air, and had the determination and heart of a superhero. In another time, he would have been one out of many, perhaps an assistant to Hal Jordan before his fall.
No... it didn’t dwell on the past. The boy would do the Corps proud. Kyle would no doubt be surprised, as would Jade, but this was for the best. Family was a safe way to inherit a ring; by comparison, this one had the gift, and so had far more to offer. He had a feeling this one would do as Kyle did, going out to see what the universe had to offer, but that would come in time. For now, he needed to learn... and home was the best place to do that.
An enigmatic smile formed on his lips as the boy slipped on the ring. Loose red and black silks gave way to the skintight uniform - brilliant green and shadow black, the line between light and darkness that the Corps once guarded.
Yes, the universe would be far better off for Ranma Saotome being in it. Ganthet vanished from the Earth to other worlds - to other worthy Ringbearers - confident that Earth had found another champion from its ranks.
