It was on the ground and shining. Obviously some kind of jewelry but Ranma couldn't tell its value. He picked it up and examined it. Following some strange impulse, he put it on.
And Ranma Saotome's life, as screwed up as it is, was forever changed. For good or ill, only time would tell.
