Even though he knew this question was a part of the initial bonding process and was almost always the first words out of a pokegirl's mouth, Ash was floored that the girl he had just watched be born and grow would first want to know about him. He quickly regained his mental footing though, "Ash, Ash Ketchum. I'm…" At this point the part of Ash that was Ranma made its presence known – Ranma flatly refused to introduce himself to a girl 'Hey, I'm your master; do what I say,' there was simply no way to put that kindly.
"Are you my master?" she asked, a hopeful gleam in her eye.
Then again…
"Y-yes, I am," he smiled, "and what is your name?"
"You haven't given me one yet." Ash could have smacked himself and probably would have if Ranma's memories hadn't indicated that it could set a very bad precedent. He was talking to a newborn; of course she didn't have a name! Mortified to learn that his counterpart had decided on the name "Kodachi", Ranma decided to run through some English names.
"Well, it's your name, so what sounds good to you? Celes, Victoria…"
"Both," she interrupted, "Victoria Celes. No, wait: Celes Victoria. I am Celes Victoria." Having been named, the standard introductions ended. Ash smiled, he was sure this was the start of a long and wonderful friendship. The next thing he needed to do was:
