But in this case, he was seeing a pokegirl who was quite obviously an oddity. One simply did not tend to see a combination of water and fire everyday. Sure types like water and ground, or fire and fighting were seen with some regularity, but it was definately a surprise to see one that would combine those two particular 'elements'.
That would mean that he'd have to keep an eye on Ketchum and his pokegirl. He usually did that for all of the trainers he sent out, but he was going to have to pay particular attention to this pair. They did seem to be special in some way, though it might just be that she was an unusual type.
