"No one move!" barked a rough looking man with a hideous scar burned into his face.
The black robed men all pointed their wands at the crowd.
A shorter fellow with sallow features piped up, "Better freeze them all and then sort it out afterwards, Murpkell."
With a swish and jab from the wands and flashes of light, all of the people were frozen in place.
"This guys been stabbed a lot," another man called out. "We might be able to save him if we get him to St. Mungos."
Murpkell leaned over the fellow. "He's just a muggle. But I suppose we can't let him die. Who attacked him, Briant?" A couple of Aurors quickly enchanted a portkey and took off with the critically injured man.
"No one was near him." Briant, the sallow faced man, levitated one of the snakes back into their shattered atrium. "Who caused this mess?"
"I think this girl may be the cause. She's got a wand in her purse, any ways." Margaret was a newer Auror, only in mid thirties. "She's the only witch or wizard otherwise."
All of the muggles' eyes were wild in fright, even if they could move any other muscles.
"Well, unfreeze her then!" the lead Auror demanded.
"Eep! Who are you?" Harriet asked as she shrank away from the imposing wizards and witches.
"What is your name?" Murpkell demanded in a loud voice.
"Harriet Dursley, sir!" She was literally quaking in her trainers now.
"Are you aware of the penalties for under age magic?" he trumpeted.
"No, sir! I don't know how to do any magic! I was just so scared for my friend. That man grabbed her and dragged her off," Harriet said. She pointed with a wavering hand towards her friend.
Peggy was unfrozen. She was crying in fright at the imposing people in strange clothes.
"Are you all right, girl? What's your name?" Margaret asked. Her wand was still at the ready.
"Peggy Martins, ma'am." The young girl looked terribly confused.
"What happened here?" the witch asked.
"T-that man grabbed me and pulled me into that room. H-he started to grope me and was trying to pull down my panties when the door just opened by itself. But it was locked! He made sure to lock it." Peggy was talking very fast, almost hyperventilating. "He had a knife to my throat then Harriet screamed and the knife started to stab him, over and over and over and over-"
"Calm down. Murpkell? It looks like a whole scad of accidental magic. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone that did all that before learning magic. You will be a remarkably strong witch, young lady," Margaret said with a smile.
"Harriet is a witch?" Peggy's eyes turned wide in shock.
"They will all have to be obliviated. Are they on their way?" the leader of the Aurors asked.
"The Oblivators should be here in about ten minutes. We should get a Bobby to handle the rapist. We'll just have to modify his memories that the man attacked himself in self-remorse or something.
"Don't hurt my friends and mother! They don't deserve to be hurt!" Harriet shouted. She was clenching her wand tightly, sparks flaring from its tip.
"Eh? We aren't going to hurt them. We're just going to modify their memories a bit. Can't have muggles knowing about the Wizarding world. Who's your mother, Harriet?" Murpkell asked in a soothing voice.
"Oh! She's right there!" Harriet pointed out the skinny, older woman. "And that's my step-brother Dudley!"
Two flicks of his wand and the Dursley's were reunited.
"Ma'am? I'm afraid that you will have to accompany us to the Ministry of Magic. This was a fairly serious breach of the Statutes of Secrecy. There will have to be an inquiry. As it appears that Harriet was just defending her friends as best as she could, untrained as she was, there should be no lasting harm. But she is under arrest until this is all cleared up."
"Peggy and Suzan will have to accompany us."
"We will have to modify their memories, there is not getting around that. But I guess we can't just leave them to their own devices." The Auror just shrugged.
