"What are RPGs? Why might they be good for a party?" Ranma said, not knowing what most people played for fun.

"They are games where you can play, taking the role of another person who's life may be very different than your own. Many include amazing things like high technology or great magic. There are many types, but here are some of the more popular types." Said the kindly owner. "One is the Fantasy genre made famous by Dungeon and Dragons. Powerful warriors, sneaky rogues, clerics who call the power of great gods and mystical wizards with mighty secrets of the arts of magic."

"Also common is the Sci-fi genre. It usually has high tech devices and involve space travel, psionics, aliens, mutants, alternative dimensions and such."

" Mixing or using some of the above is the Horror genre with darker elements. It tend to focus on were beasts, witches, vampire, undead and deeds that violated the laws of nature."

"Another popular choice is the Superhero genre, with also mixes the Sci-fi and the Fantasy genres. People with great powers from science or magic defend the world from super criminals and world conquest obsessed tyrants. Plus threats from other dimensions and planets. Or on the flip side, you play the villains who haunt the heroes."

"There are others that mix the above or explore other areas, like battle recreation. I also have a collection of RPG books based on popular culture like video games or TV shows. Plus I do have a collection of card RPG that might be of interest. Many popular types of all genre. Would would you like?"
