"This is not acceptable. We enter an era where your power, your influence on the tapestry of reality is needed. I and my bretheren ... of them we have made an error. We slew too many, and now suffer for our crime.
"But through the end of the Age of Sorrows, only the sinners should be punished. An accord must be reached, and so, I send you, Saotome Ranma, back. Back to the second age. Further, and I unmake myself. But from there, you can ... and will ... reshape this world."
Ranma blinked. "Listen, that's, uh, nice, and all, but ... I don't think that's for me. I gotta get a cure for my curse, and--"
"Curse? How mockingly you treat one of the last remnants of what you can ... and will some day again ... be. No, Ranma. This is not a question of willingness to go, only willingness to do once you are sent.
"I am a martyr for my cause; no apology for my actions will ever be sufficient. It is the price I, and my ilk, will need to bear. But the death should end with me and mine ... and not progress to the brothers we slew.
"I cast you back, Saotome Ranma! I cast you back to the time you should have been born in. You will bring the world to an accord ... or through you I will have unmade this world."
Ranma froze, seeing the man's blindfold suddenly turn crimson in slowly expanding spots ... one over each eye. "What..." he tried weakly to protest.
"I will not allow this to have been in vain! Create ... or unmake!"
And then Ranma felt his very self warping as he had seen the space around him do only moments ago....
