Nodoka had heard what Herb and Ranma had confessed to her. Nodoka was angry that Akane and the other girls were just using her son as a decoy so that other people would think they were good and nice girls. She had just given her blessing to Herb and Ranma after they had told her of their plans.
Ranma and Herb had thanked her then left her alone to her thoughts.
'Alone. That is what I have been for most of my life.' Nodoka thought. Nodoka was thinking of the day her parents had called her to the study. Nodoka just stood there and listened as they told her they had given her hand in marriage to Genma Saotome. She protested this since she had met the man in question. To her he was nothing but a perverted bastard who wanted her money and there was his character that she knew of. He hid most of his bad character from her parents and when he had asked for her hand in marriage her parents gave their blessings. Nodoka had told them that Genma was not a good man but they assumed she was rebelling against the arranged marriage. Nodoka's resistance to the marriage was so great that her parents had arranged for Genma to show up in her room for her ruin. Then they had shown up and demanded the marriage since Genma would spread the news about him in Nodoka's bedroom late at night.
Nodoka silently cursed her parents for not listening to her then blaming her. Nodoka's parents blamed her since after the marriage Genma had shown his true colors. A greedy, amoral, lazy, and dishonorable bastard were his true colors. Nodoka's parents blamed her for their mistake and that pissed her off. Luckily Nodoka had moved a great portion of her money into investments Genma could not touch since he didn't know of them. But the money that fat idiot did touch vanished into drinking binges with Soun and Happosai.
Nodoka loved her child very much and when Genma had kidnapped him and left the Seppuku contract she was devastated. She tried to get her parents to help but they wouldn't since they blamed her for everything. She searched for 10 long years and finally stuck paydirt when Genma had shown up at the Tendo dojo with Ranma.
When she learned of the arranged marriage made by Soun and Genma she was angry. Especially after she had seen one of Akane's temper tantrums. She nearly blew a gasket when she learned of the other arranged marriages with Ukyo and Kaori.
Seeing that she went to the authorities and began divorce proceedings from Genma. She even had went to have Ranma removed from Genma's custody to hers. After seeing the photos and other evidence about Akane and her activities she gave her blessing to the couple.
Nodoka listened to Ranma and Herb discuss they art the so loved. Nodoka truly hoped that Herb would not be like Genma. She also promised her child that she would support Ranma no matter what.
