Cepheid's Senshi: Needs And Desires [Episode 125193]

by Kender

It was almost too easy to understand, as if the universe was trying to get the Senshi back together. But at this point, Setsuna was ready to accept a lot, especially when it did what she'd want to happen without her having to intercede. As it was, this would lead to results that she could actually use, and accept.

She'd just have to deal with the fact that two of the Senshi would be brought together by something that likely would not be good for their health.

What had happened was that she was getting to look in on a very familiar face. He might be dressed in ornate robes, and had the use of magic and alchemy, but it was still Hotaru's father who she was watching go across a castle's stone floor. It was a magnificent place, with great halls many times the size of a man, and solid walls that would stand even a cannonball.

Unfortunately, the grand design of the place had lost a lot of its open and secure feeling due to the shadows that pervaded the entire structure. That same darkness was reflected in the castle's owner, as he had long since withdrawn from the light.

After all, he had a wish to regain something from the other side. Somewhere out there was a mazoku whom he had been very familiar with. In fact, he'd sired a child upon her, and there could be very few bonds that could be closer. However, he wasn't thinking exactly on their relationship in those terms. His thinking was a whole lot more... linear.

He wanted her back, and it didn't matter how. For such a short time, she'd been his, and ever since they'd parted, he'd thought of little else but on how to get her to return. It didn't matter that it hadn't been easy to get her the first time around, as he was willing to go as far as he could to succeed. And that's where the spiral began.

The need to get her back was a mixture of the wish to continue with his work, and to have her return. That pride and desire mated to become a driving need. From there, he'd degenerated into an obsessive person, thinking of little else as he put in more and more time into discovering the special efforts that would be needed to get to his goal. By this time, he was totally focused on what he was doing, and wasn't able to see anything but the end of his quest.

That seemed to be even closer once he found the artifact. As he'd looked over it, he could tell that it was something of great power, and would allow him to finally get what he so wanted. It would serve as a lure, almost like the line cast by a fisherman. She would be hooked, and drawn to the device, at which time he could use it to keep her there.

Once he did that, he'd make sure that they'd stay together forever.

Usagi would come as well, as she was going after the Orb that he'd had stolen to power his device. As the daughter in question, Hotaru would likely get pulled in to this situation between her parents. And it was more than likely that the little half-mazoku white mage would drag her new friend Ranma into the fray along with herself. If they weren't killed along the way, they would meet up and likely join forces.

Pluto rubbed the bridge of her nose and wondered how this could get any worse. Unfortunately, she knew that to ask such things was to invite trouble, and she sure didn't want to do that. So she pushed it from her mind and hoped that none of this universe's dieties heard her while:
