Diana waited until their hosts had gotten themselves comfortable, then began to speak. "Alright, everyone," she stated in a gentle, yet firm, voice, "I'm sure that you're all wondering just what's going on."
At the chorus of bobbing heads, the grey kitty hawk/rabbit crossbreed sighed. "It's like this," she continued. "The queen, our mother, decided that if we were to take our proper positions as the new Defenders of Love and Justice, we needed to finish our training."
Ami went into 'business' mode and cleared her throat. "So she decided to have you both Spliced, so you could work directly with us, as we are now?"
Chibi-Usa shook her furry head rapidly, her long ears nearly hitting her twin. "Nope, mope, nope," she chuckled. "We've always been like this." At that, Diana slapped her pink-hued twin in the back of the head and complained about her dumplings infecting her brain.
Rei put her golden furred muzzle next to her leige-lady's ear and hissed, "That looks familiar, doesn't it?" Usagi could only stare at the younger bickering duo and sweatdrop.
After a few moments, the pair from the future settled down and returned to their previous positions. Once calmed, a somewhat irritated Diana continued. "Yes, well; Neo-Queen Serenity had decided that Small Lady needed to learn greater control of her magic and that I needed to be able to handle myself in a dangerous situation."
Luna looked up from her petting of the purring white Mausian. "But I thought you were my daughter, Diana," she sobbed out, her eyes bright with unshed tears.
The darker-furred twin lowered her head. "You've always been there for me, Momma Luna," she stated in a voice that was beginning to choke with emotions. "When Usa and I chose our roles, I spent most of my time with you, learning the duties of being an Advisor." Silvery tears began to trail down her dark fur. "I always wanted to be the daughter you couldn't have yourself."
Artemis spoke up from his cradle in his lover's arms. "Why couldn't she, Diana-chan?" he enquired gently.
The darker chimera-girl couldn't speak, instead leaning into her lighter-furred twin's embrace. The bubblegum-hued girl looked into the male moon cat's eyes and, with a sigh, told him. "The reason why Auntie Luna couldn't bear any kittens is because the cryo-capsule that she used was defective."
The black-haired cat cosplayer begant to shiver. "I... I'm sterile?" she gasped out. At that, Usagi wrapped her, in truth, oldest companion in a grasp with both her furry arms and dark wings, and let the heartbroken woman cry herself out.
It was a more subdued group that filed out of the shrine room a few hours later. The others were chatting softly with the time travling pair, Luna with them at the younger girl's insistance. The shocks that the Mausian in near-human form had recently experienced had all of them worried.
As the eldest Senshi was preparing to depart, a black-furred hand/paw grabbed onto her arm. She stiffened, knowing for certain what was going to be said.
Usagi spoke to Setsuna's back. "Why didn't you let us know?" she asked gently.
The emerald-haired woman sighed. "Let you know what, Usagi?" she responded in a slightly heated voice.
The Kitty Hawk of the Moon growled. "Don't play with me, Setsuna." There was a solid core of 'Moon Princess' present in the younger woman's voice. "You are aware of what I mean."
"How could I?" the tall, dark-skinned woman whispered. "Would any of you believe me?"
The felioid hand dropped from her arm, as a bright glow erupted behind her. A voice, filled with purpose and determination, yet still holding the same caring that it usually did, spoke from behind the Senshi of Time's back. "We must have words with you now, O my Senshi."
Swallowing, Setsuna turned. Standing there was her Princess, in all her glory. The girls hair now shone a burnished platinum, her fur a glistening white. The girl's body was standing tall, govered in silk of a glowing white. Her wings were spread, the feathers raidiant and pure as snow. No, this was no longer just the Princess. The furson she was now facing, if even barely coming into her true powers, was the Neo-Queen that she had been angling for for all these long millenia. She collapsed to her knees and stared into that benevolent and yet stern gaze. "W-what do you want of me, your Highness?" she stuttered in shock.
The pale felinoid cupped the older woman's cheek. "We want you to inform Us of all that has happened of late." In the bright, slitted pupils that this feline Serenity bore, a glint of the strength that ran through the bloodline could be seen. "And as you talk, We will listen; leave nothing out, for We will know if there is any ommision or falsehood."
