Sailor Pulp: Bloodlines [Episode 125617]

by Loki-L

Setsuna did not often allow herself to bask in her accomplishments, but today was a day to celebrate, for today was June 30th, the dawn of a new age.

Today the last moonprincess of the silver millennium would be reborn. The savior of this world and the herald of a new age. The culmination of an immortal lifetime of work.

Not that anybody would ever know the hard work that Setsuna had put into this birth. Some of the smarter ones might wonder what a remarkable coincidence it was that the princess and her Senshi were all born in the same city. They might even suspect Setsuna of having induced their parents to move so they would be close together but they would never in a dozen centuries suspect the true scope of Setsuna's manipulation.

Looking after the bloodline for millennia, keeping it pure and protecting it, making sure that there always was a surviving heir, manipulating great persons to marry into the line to contribute to the genetic makeup of the future heir - all that and much more had been her duty throughout the ages in addition to her normal duties of looking after the timestream.

Of course for a long time she had not been sure where the new Utopia would blossom. Prescience only got you this far after all, the rest was careful planing for all contingencies.

A century ago she had almost been certain that it would be Crystal London and later she had been sure to have found her future in the gothamite metropolis that she still thought of as Nieuw-Amsterdam. It had only been fairly recently that she had realized that the silver millennium would be reborn in the eastern capital that she had last visited as Edo.

The bloodlines had to be moved again and integrated into a society vary of strangers.

And if looking after the blooline of the princess had been hard work, it had been nothing compared to the hassle that her warriors had been.

Setsuna had to careful orchestrate coincidences and accidents that would leave men stranded all over the solar system. Then she had to manipulate them into marrying into the remnants of the various royal lines and wait for their children to grow up and return to the birthplace of their parents.

She also fondly recalled using the great detective to find the ancestors of the future king of earth. Who knew that deep in the heart of Africa there still was a still a lost city remnant of the Atlantean empire. Getting the highpriestress pregnant by a British peer had been child play by comparison to actually finding her.

Not that it had mattered as Setsuna had to cover up the ancestries of all of them once she had moved them to Tokyo.

Setsuna wondered what the ambitious politician Hino would say if he were to learn that his darling 2 1/2 month old baby daughter was of filthy gajin ancestry? That she was a Carter like the American president he reviled? Would he find any consolation in learning that young Rei was also a true princess of Mars?

But nobody would every learn. Setsuna had been careful to hide her steps. Anybody who looked to closely into various family trees would find the fake clues that would lead them to World Newton and away from the truth.

There were still a few loose ends of people Setsuna had added practically at last minute, but in time she would clean up those, too. Setsuna worried a bit that her princess might stand out to much with blond hair, that she had as a result of one of her last minute additions. But how could Setsuna have resisted adding the heritage of Clark Savage to the future ruler of the world? If Usagi Tsukino only had inherited a fraction of her grandfather's competence it would have been well worth the extra hassle.
