Nuclear Fusion - Reunion: A Personal Lead [Episode 126288]

by PsyckoSama

A half hour later, Yajiro was happily enjoying the full hospitality of the inn. Before they'd only stopped in for a bed, bath, and a bowl of rice, but after saving the place from a group of bandits, the owners seemed to be more than willing to give them what ever they asked for, at least within reason.

Yajiro of course, was not one to turn away hospitality. As such, he was sitting before a three course meal, with a nice bottle of rice wine on the side, dressed in a robe while his travel clothes were cleaned and patched.

God he loved this hero shit.

He looked over to Resyuna with a smile. He wondered what his traveling partner was up to. She'd been talking to one of the girls how worked here for a while.

In the name of curiosity he leaned over and listened in.

"…he saved this place about three weeks ago. Another gang decided to stop by and make a mess, but before they could do anything he beat them all. He used a gun but didn't kill anyone, kinda like you."

"It was him? Are you sure?" Resyuna asked.

The girl nodded, "Well, I find it hard to believe it's really him is kind of a stretch, but your discretion was accurate. Amazing gunman, long red coat, big silver gun, brush hair, warm aquamarine eyes, and a friendly smile. Right on the money."

Resyuna bit her lip. "Did he take a bath? Did you see what he looks like under the coat."

The girl blushed. "We're not that kind of place…"

"I just need to know, did you?"

"Yeah, I was the person who delivered his clothes to him after we patched them up."

Resyuna took a deep breath. "Did he have and automail arm, and was his body covered with horrible scars?"

The girl paused for a moment. "Yes."

"Which way did he go?"

"East, into the wasteland…"

Resyuna immediately turned around. Yajiro jerked back to his meal, playing dumb.

"Ya-chan," she stated, "We're leaving first thing tomorrow morning." Yajiro blinked, "Why? I though we were going to stay here for a couple more days?"

She bit her lip. "We need to go east, into the wasteland."

"You're insane," Yajiro stated bluntly. "Into the wasteland, into one thousand miles of radioactive desert and for what?"

"I need to find someone…"

"You know, Resyuna," he remarked, "You've got me worried about you."

Resyuna blinked. "Oh? Why's that, Ya-chan?"

"I mean, you usually glide through life, like a leaf on the wind. I mean, you never seem to have anything planned beyond the next hot spring and the only real objective you have in life is to try and solve problems without violence," he shook his head, "So why the hell did you drop everything and totally change direction, taking us toward the deeps wastes to look for some stupid gunman, especially when you have a bounty on your head to deal with?"

Resyuna's eyes hardened, and her pretty smiled twisted into a scowl. "Yajiro," she stated tersely, "That is personal."

"I know that tone of voice, don't tell me that you of all people have a grudge."

"It is not a grudge!" she exclaimed.

"Then what is it?" Yajiro asked.

"I just need to find this person!"

"Why?"

"It's PERSONAL!" she exclaimed.

"Okay, this is not like you…"

"Ya-chan," she stated looking very uncomfortable and somewhat vulnerable, "I just have to do this, please, don't ask questions. Its very personal and I really don't want to talk about it…"

Yajiro sighed, "Okay, just tell me who it is we're looking for."

Resyuna paused for a moment and nodded, "Okay… but you're not going to like it."

He shrugged, "Come on, this personal can't be that bad, who is he?"

"Vash the Stampede"
