Kusari, Tengu Warrior: Enter the Amazon [Episode 126579]

by Amor

It was a regular day in Nerima-- and, as things had calmed down recently, you really could use the phrase regular day. It was a weekend, so both Ranma and Akane were home, as were the now four children, who were either playing around or sparring with each other.

Of the three, only the eldest son, Makoto, was particularly good at martial arts. Their youngest, and only daughter, Rin, was just three years old and, however much potential she may show, was far too young for even Ranma to have started training yet. The middle child, Yukichi, had been trained in martial arts, but found his own personal talents were more suited to the culinary field-- he was currently the apprentice of Ukyo, much to Akane's dismay.

So, at the moment Akane was relaxing while Yukichi and Rin played inside the house. Kusari and Makoto, seeking privacy, had left the house and were now sparring in their back yard. Kusari, at thirteen, was a year younger than Makoto but pretty much his equal in martial arts.

Makoto led with a simple punch, which Kusari easily blocked, but it was a feint. Still, Kusari swept under the round-house kick that followed, and pressed upwards to try and knock him off balance. Panicked, Makoto leapt backwards, negating the whole exchange. This time she attacked, sweeping at him with her talons, which he barely managed to avoid.

Kusari was hit with an uppercut, but only winced slightly. She trapped Makoto's arm with her own, and spun around to slap him with her wing. Pressing her advantage, Kusari struck Mako's chest with a side kick, causing him to fall to the ground, landing on his butt.

He was about to get up and resume when a girl, about Kusari's age, with pink hair done up in a pigtail, jumped down from the roof with great flourish. Beyond her bright hair, the most noticeable thing about her was the giant axe she held in one hand. The two had been so wrapped up in sparring that they hadn't noticed her before. "Wow! So, did crow-girl win?"

"Uh, yeah," Kusari stammered. Despite being a tengu, she still got weirded out sometimes.

"Okay!" the girl said with a smile and a pose. As she power-posed, the backdrop of the dojo changed to a wave crashing against the shore magestically. The girl leapt up onto a rock and announced herself. "I am Pa Tze, Lovely Warrior Girl of the Joketsuzoku Amazon Tribe! Let's fight!"

Makoto stared at her. "Paste?"

"Sure," Paste replied with a shrug. She turned to the black-haired tengu and held out her ax. "Now, crow-girl, I challenge you to a fight! Let's go!"

"Er..." Kusari was taken aback by Paste's energy.

The conversation between the three teenagers was interrupted violently by Akane Tendo, who had happened to overhear the last bit of the conversation as she was doing the dishes. Akane jerked Kusari away from the impending combat by the wings. "Oh no you don't! Kusari, Makoto, never fight an Amazon! Trust me on it! They're crazy!"

Paste turned her sideways as she stared at Akane, before her large blue eyes lit up with recognition. "Ohhhh! You must be the pervert girl Mother told me about!"

Smoke began to trickle out from Akane's ears. "What. Did. You. Just. Say?"

"Oh, you must be the pervert girl Mother told me about?" Paste supplied.

Akane's aura, usually as dim as a candle, flared up with rage. Kusari and Makoto knowingly backed off. Paste didn't quite know what she'd done wrong. Dealing with Shampoo and her kin had been the most frustrating thing after she had admitted her own feelings for Ranma. The thought of having to do that again drove Akane mad, though really only the words "Amazon" and "mother" had triggered it. And a rational mind would have taken that as a sign of safety.

But Akane Saotome was far from rational.

"ARGH! AMAZON! DIEDIEDIEDIE!" The confused Paste was now frantically dodging a flurry of reckless attacks, not knowing if she should fight this woman or not.

But Paste was not the only one from her village that had arrived that day...
