Kagome on a String: ...And the Boy Who was Just Overcome! [Episode 127510]

by Wyrm

"There's no point in a mortal keeping the Shikon no Tama," said Inuyasha, grinning with ill intent. "So be a good girl and turn it over, unless you want to feel the gentle caress of my claws!"

Kagome sighed wearily. "Oh yeah. You want it too..."

"That's right, girlie. I'll make this really simple. Give me the jewel, and I'll let you live!" confirmed the dog-boy.

Lady Kaede must have seen a glimmer of Kagome considering the possibility. "No, Kagome!" warned the old priestess, "You must not let him have it!"

"Don't think I'll be gentle, little girl," growled the hanyou, "not when you stink of the woman who killed me!" Kagome had barely time to dodge away from the youth's strike. Where she had been before was now a deep furrow in the ground. "Next time," began Inuyasha with a feral grin, "I'll cut you in half."

Kagome overcame her fear and began to get angry. "Hey! You're seriously trying to hurt me, aren't you?!" Kagome shouted, "You little TWERP! I helped you take down Mistress Centipede, and this is the thanks I get?!"

"Lady Kaede, methinks we'd have preferred the giant centipede after all!" commented one of the villagers.

Lady Kaede let out an exasperated sigh. "Oh, me... 'tis ever thus," she mused, digging up a string of prayer beads. "I am ringed by fools."

"Now, DIE!!" roared Inuyasha as he tracked after Kagome.

"No way!" came the saber marionette's answer as she ducked behind a tree trunk for cover. The tree met a premature end as it was ripped in two by the dog-boy's vicious claws. It began falling toward Kagome.

If she were human, Kagome would've gotten out of the way. However, knowing her own strength gave her a more useful response in this case: kick the tree at Inuyasha. She did, and Inuyasha, who was expecting her to respond like a human, instead got a face full of tree trunk.

The unexpected high-speed trunk in the face knocked Inuyasha down, the trunk landing atop him. "BWAH!" yelped the dog-boy as he was crunched by the log, then the demon youth growled as he tossed it off his person. "Clever one, are you?" he asked, almost pleased. "I almost forgot your strength."

*KA-ZAM!*

"Eh?" Inuyasha murmured as a string of prayer beads appeared around his neck.

"KAGOME! UTTER A SUBDUING SPELL!" commanded Kaede.

"A sub—? What?!" asked Kagome, confused.

"It matters not which! Any word will do!"

Now Kagome was getting nervous. "But I don't know any—"

"YOU?! SUBDUE ME?!!" roared Inuyasha, taking another swipe at Kagome, who dodged out the way in time. "Don't make me laugh!!" Inuyasha lunged, this time sure of a solid slash that would take this girl apart.

"Um... um..." Kagome stammered, groping for a word. And she found one. Given the doggy nature of her opponent, there was only one word that came to mind:

"OSUWARI!! [SIT!!]"

*SPLAT!!*

"OIF!" squeaked Inuyasha as he hit the ground firmly.

In the dirt.

Flat on his face.

The villagers gaped in awe. "By this spell, he was subdued!" one villager declared. Lady Kaede looked satisfied and ever so slightly smug.

The beads around Inuyasha's neck sizzled with heat as the dog-boy recovered from the shock he had just received. He bolded upright, clawing at the necklace hanging like an albotross around his neck. "What in the nine hells is this?!" he demanded, trying to yank it off with all of his strength.

Lady Kaede stepped calmly into the former field of battle, moving to Kagome's side. "It's no use, Inuyasha. You cannot lift these beads from your head even with all your power."

"Whaaat?! You withered crone!" exclaimed Inuyasha as he lunged.

"Do your voodoo," commanded Lady Kaede gently.

"Osuwari!" *SPLAT!* "OIF!"

Inuyasha lay face down on the ground, the beads sizzling with heat again.

That's kinda cool! Kagome thought in wonder

"You may all return to the village. The show is over," Kaede said to the gathered villagers.
