“Well not really,” Grim replied before flipping a page. “You see, all that stuff is just to keep everything sorted and speed up the filing process is all. If you want, we could just leave you unchanged. You’ll be you, unbound and free to wander around the world, but that’s pretty much the extent of your actions. Unless you find something or someone to use as a medium. But people like that are pretty rare, and being able to use an object like that, or possessing a normal person by yourself, takes a few decades of storing up spiritual energy.”
“Then why the hell did you list all that stuff?” Ranma demanded.
“Because everyone eventually ends up as one of those after a few days, years, centuries… you get the point,” Death told him. “This just speeds the whole system along and takes out a lot of the hassle for us. So, what do you want?”
“NONE!” the angry deiced martial artist yelled.
“Fine, be that way,” Death grumbled before snatching the signed contract away from Ranma now that he was finished with it and vanished as mysteriously as he had appeared.
“Great… now what am I supposed to do?” the ghost mumbled before looking down at his floating body and shivering. “You know, I always thought her cooking would kill me, not the mallet.”
