The shaded figure kneeling behind her gave a barely perceptible nod. "Yes, she has. According to our information, she set out from an inn where she stopped a bandit attack, and is heading out into the wasteland after his trail."
"Do you know why she's going after him?"
"She's kept that information even from the one that travels with her."
The imposter's eyes narrowed. "I see... But you do realise that she can't be allowed to contact him, whatever the reason."
"As you say."
"If she were to be slain by that man, we would be well rid of her, but we can not risk her allying herself with him."
"She will not be allowed to."
"Good. Make certain that she isn't."
"As you wish," the figure replied, and blurred out of sight.
That left the imposter sitting with the plant that she'd be pruning in front of her. Bonsai was nearly a lost art in this world, but some of the more dedicated souls kept it alive. It worked because of the relatively small need the plants had for water, and the fact that they provided a link with the pre-Flash world.
'Tenshi's' arm flashed out and she slapped the useless plant away. "That Rushuna..," she growled as her teeth ground together while:
