But that pathetic and self-righteous fool Kamiya had been too wrapped up in his stupid 'ideals' to see that. Instead of embracing the true meaning of being a swordman, he'd tried to teach techiques that would hurt, and disable, but never kill. It was too naive for words, and he'd been disgusted with the idea of having to be stuck in such a silly role. He was not to be a stupid 'protector', but to be a true warrior.
And that old bastard couldn't see that. He'd been too full of his own self-worth to admit that Gohei had been right. When he'd tried to show him the stronger path, his former teacher had struck a blow that had permanently crippled his sword hand. And he needed to garner some experience and practice in fighting, just to make sure he'd worked the kinks out, and so that his bloodlust was satisfied.
This bounty poster that he'd found helped admirably in that regard. If he caught the fugitive, he'd have all the money he'd want, and he'd be able to have a bit of good come his way as a 'helpful citizen'. It was really too bad that it was a girl, but he knew that he couldn't be choosey. Besides, he knew that girls were simply too fragile and weak to stand a real fight.
